VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 has reached its decisive weekend in Barcelona, with Karmine Corp and FUT Esports meeting in the upper final while Team Liquid and Fire Flux fight for survival. The remaining matches will finalize EMEA’s representation at VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai.
Four teams remain in contention at VCT EMEA Stage 2 as the regional season enters its final weekend: Karmine Corp, FUT Esports, Team Liquid and Fire Flux Esports.
The headline matchup on August 28 is the upper-bracket final between Karmine Corp and FUT.
For Karmine Corp, victory would secure a place in the Stage 2 grand final and, with it, direct qualification to VALORANT Champions 2026.
FUT enter the match from a different position. The Turkish organization has already accumulated enough Championship Points to secure its place at Champions Shanghai regardless of how the final weekend plays out. Reaching the Stage 2 final would still keep FUT in contention for the regional title and EMEA’s top seed.
Karmine Corp reached the upper final after finishing first in Group B and defeating Enterprise Esports 2-1 in the upper semifinals.
FUT began their playoff run with a 2-0 victory over Team Liquid before taking down BBL Esports 2-1 to move within one series of the grand final.
The run represents an important turnaround for Karmine Corp after a first half of the season in which the team missed out on qualification to the year’s international Masters events through the regular VCT circuit. Their Stage 2 campaign has now put them one win away from a Champions berth.
FUT, meanwhile, have benefited from consistency across the season. Their Championship Points total has already made them one of EMEA’s confirmed representatives in Shanghai before the regional stage has concluded.
The second series of Friday’s schedule puts Team Liquid against Fire Flux Esports in the lower bracket. There is no safety net for either side: the winner advances to Saturday’s lower final, while the loser is eliminated.
Liquid have already survived two elimination matches. After losing 0-2 to FUT in the opening round of the playoffs, they recovered with a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt before sweeping Enterprise Esports 2-0.
Fire Flux have taken an even longer route.
The Turkish side advanced through the Stage 2 Play-Ins before entering the main playoff bracket, where they defeated Team Vitality 2-1 and BBL Esports 2-0.
Their run has become one of the defining stories of VCT EMEA Stage 2. Fire Flux entered the competition from the Challenger system and have now reached the regional top four after eliminating multiple teams from the partnered league.
Vitality’s early playoff exit did not necessarily end their road to Shanghai. Their Championship Points total remains significant in the race for the remaining qualification places.
EMEA receives four slots at VALORANT Champions 2026. Two are awarded to the Stage 2 finalists, while the other two go to the highest-ranked teams in the season-long Championship Points standings that have not already qualified through the regional final.
That system means the final weekend is about more than the Stage 2 trophy. Results involving Karmine Corp, Liquid and Fire Flux can also alter which teams ultimately claim EMEA’s points-based Champions berths.
The lower-bracket final will be played on August 29 as a best-of-five. Its winner will secure both a grand-final appearance and direct qualification to Champions Shanghai.
The VCT EMEA Stage 2 grand final follows on August 30. The winner will take $100,000 from the event’s $250,000 prize pool and eight Championship Points, while the runner-up receives $65,000 and six points.
Once EMEA’s regional season is complete, attention will turn to VALORANT Champions 2026, scheduled for September 24 through October 18 in Shanghai.
Sixteen teams from EMEA, Americas, Pacific and China will compete for the final international title of the 2026 VCT season.
