The Snare Setter is located in a secret area of Weavenest Atla, which is accessible only via the Faydown Cloak (Double Jump) in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Weavenest Atla is positioned to the east of Moss Grotto, the game’s starting point, and players can enter it by playing the Needolin near the locked entrance. Follow these steps to acquire the Snare Setter:
- Enter Weavenest Atla and activate the teleporter to get to the lower section.
- Use Cling Grip to ascend the wall on the right side.
- Jump across to enter the chamber on the left.
- Move left until you reach the water.
- Look up to spot a hidden area that can be accessed with a double jump.
- Utilize Cling Grip to reach the top, then turn right.
- Collect the Snare Setter from the pedestal to add it to your inventory.

When deployed, the Snare Setter creates a medium-sized silk rune that detonates when an enemy approaches, causing damage. By default, the Snare Setter has eight charges and does not need any additional materials to recharge beyond regular Shell Shards.
The Snare Setter is particularly effective in boss encounters, allowing Hornet to spread Silk runes across the battlefield and wait for the bosses to trigger them. Although it can be used against regular foes, utilizing your Needle for standard enemies is often a more straightforward approach.
Functionally, it is akin to the Tacks Tool (Caltrops). However, while Tacks struggle to inflict significant damage on highly mobile bosses, the Snare Setter can deliver damage effectively. On the downside, it offers less overall efficiency in terms of damage per hit.
