In Persona 5: The Phantom X, an essential aspect for players to remember is that Persona Skills can be enhanced. This factor becomes crucial, especially when facing challenging battles, as the proficiency of a Phantom Thief’s Persona skills significantly affects damage output, health restoration, and the strength of buffs and debuffs.
This guide aims to assist players in effectively navigating the Skill Leveling system, offering insights on how to elevate skills, the materials needed for skill enhancement, and where to procure them.
Leveling Up Phantom Thieves Skills in Persona 5: The Phantom X
Characters in the game, specifically those categorized as 4 or 5-Star Phantom Thieves, possess a single Persona, and their skill levels can be improved using Incense found within the Thieves tab of the main menu.
- Access the Thieves Tab.
- Select your chosen Phantom Thief, followed by ‘Persona.’
- In the Persona Menu, identify the skill you wish to upgrade and click ‘Level Up’ on the bottom right.
- This process requires a specific amount of Incense of varied qualities to successfully enhance the skills.
To advance from Levels 1 to 3, players will need Skill Incense S. For levels 3 to 6, Skill Incense M is required, while from levels 6 to 10, players will require Avatamsa Incense to reach maximum skill proficiency. These Incenses can be acquired through the Realm of Repression Enlightenment tiers or earned as rewards from Events, Objectives, Plans, and through standard drops from containers and Sub-Boss Shadow encounters.
Moreover, players can enhance lower-quality Incenses into higher grades using the Workbench. For instance, three Skill Incense S can be transformed into one Skill Incense M, and similarly for other types.
Players should be aware that not all material conversion recipes are unlocked from the start. Progressing in the Main Story and enhancing Wonder is necessary to access new recipes.
Additionally, it’s noteworthy that special attacks, such as Highlighted moves, will advance as the Phantom Thief achieves higher levels of experience and awareness.
Enhancing Wonder’s Persona Skills
The main character’s Persona Skills cannot be directly leveled up from the Thieves tab. Instead, players must enter the Velvet Room menu, select Persona Training, and engage in Teach Skill (Enlightenment). Janosik and other Personas can acquire skills using Seals collected from the Realm of Repression, and their capabilities are inherently upgraded through Persona Training by opting for Enhance (Special Training).
Utilizing Memory Cubes, Anecdote Cubes, or Legend Cubes allows players to elevate their Personas’ levels, improving stats and unlocking additional skill slots. Personas will also automatically gain new skills and see previously learned ones improve as their levels progress. Furthermore, there exists a legacy system that permits players to impart skills to Janesik and other Personas from acquired Seals.
