The European open qualification stage for PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 has begun, giving teams another route into one of the major Counter-Strike 2 tournaments of the autumn. Cybersport In reports, citing HLTV, that the first European Open Qualifier started on September 4, with teams competing for places in the next stage of the qualification process.
The first qualifier featured a mix of established organizations and less prominent European rosters. Among the participants were fnatic, Nemiga, BC.Game, 1win, JiJieHao, ASTRAL and several other teams looking to keep their chances of reaching Bucharest alive.
The European qualification system for PGL Masters Bucharest includes both open and closed stages. The strongest teams from the open qualifiers advance to the Closed Qualifier, where they will meet organizations that received direct invitations.
Nemiga and BET-M emerged as the successful teams from the first European Open Qualifier. Nemiga defeated BRUTE 2-1 in its decisive series, while BET-M overcame FOKUS by the same score. Nemiga and BET-M secured places in the PGL Masters Bucharest Closed Qualifier.
The second European Open Qualifier began on September 6, providing another group of teams with an opportunity to advance. The PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 qualification campaign continues with another European open bracket before the closed stage determines the region’s representatives at the main event.
Several notable organizations have already received direct invitations to the European Closed Qualifier. Ukrainian teams B8 and Inner Circle were invited directly to the PGL Masters Bucharest Closed Qualifier, meaning they do not need to pass through the open stage.
The successful open-qualifier teams will therefore face stronger opposition in the next phase as the battle for places at the main tournament intensifies. B8 recently qualified for IEM Beijing 2026 after a strong run through the European qualifier, adding further interest to the Ukrainian team’s upcoming PGL campaign.
PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 is scheduled to take place in Romania from October 24 to 31. Sixteen teams will compete at the tournament for a total prize pool of $1.25 million.
