CS2 IEM Chengdu 2025: Teams, Format, Schedule, Results, and Additional Information

The premier teams from around the globe have gathered in Asia for the CS2 IEM Chengdu 2025, which is set to unfold in China from November 3 to 9.

Excitement among fans is high, especially after it was announced that live audiences would be allowed during the group stage this year, a significant departure from the previous format that only permitted crowds for the playoffs.

Team Spirit, the reigning champions from Cologne last August, are on a quest to achieve consecutive IEM titles. However, they face stiff competition from top CS2 teams such as Team Vitality, FURIA, The MongolZ, and Team Falcons. FaZe Clan, who last lifted the trophy in Chengdu, is also back with a restructured roster that includes North American player Russel «Twistzz» Van Dulken.

With 16 teams competing for top honors and aiming to build momentum ahead of the Budapest Major, IEM Chengdu 2025 promises to be a fierce battle among powerhouse teams. Here’s everything you should know about the tournament.

IEM Chengdu 2025 utilizes the traditional group stage and playoff format.

The competition kicks off with 16 teams allocated into two GSL-style groups (double-elimination), where matches are played in a best-of-three format. The winners of each group progress directly to the semifinals, while the second and third place teams proceed to the quarterfinals as high and low seeds respectively.

The playoffs consist of best-of-three matches, culminating in a best-of-five grand final.
