The elite teams from around the globe have gathered in Asia for the CS2 IEM Chengdu 2025, which is set to take place in China from November 3 to 9.

Excitement among fans has surged after ESL announced that this year’s event will allow live audiences during the group stage, a significant shift from the previous arrangement that limited spectator access to the playoff rounds.

Team Spirit, the champions of Cologne last August, are striving for consecutive IEM titles, but they face tough competition from other top teams like Team Vitality, FURIA, The MongolZ, and Team Falcons. FaZe Clan, the last team to win the trophy in Chengdu, returns with a newly revamped lineup that includes North American star Russel «Twistzz» Van Dulken.

With a total of 16 teams competing for victory and momentum leading up to the Budapest Major, IEM Chengdu 2025 promises to be a spectacular showdown of titans. Below is all the essential information about the tournament.

IEM Chengdu 2025 utilizes the traditional group stage followed by playoffs setup.

The tournament will commence with 16 teams divided into two GSL-style groups (double-elimination) where every match will be played in a best-of-three format. The top teams from each group will proceed directly to the semifinals while the second and third place teams will enter the quarterfinals as high and low seeds, respectively.

The playoff rounds will consist of best-of-three matches, culminating in a best-of-five grand final.
