Riot Introduces Chromas for Past Champions’ Worlds Winner Skins, Starting with IG and SSG

With the upcoming Worlds 2025 event, Riot Games is revitalizing older cosmetics from Invictus Gaming and Samsung Galaxy by introducing elite chromas that enhance their iconic champion skins.

Since 2019, starting with the championship skins of FunPlus Phoenix, all winning teams of Worlds have received chromas, offering additional color variations for their celebratory cosmetics. Previously, teams that triumphed before 2019 had not been given this opportunity–until now.

First Chinese Worlds victory and a beloved skin collection.

Beginning with League Patch 25.20, players will be able to access chromas for the 2017 Samsung Galaxy Championship skins and the 2018 Invictus Gaming skins. Both teams have storied histories, and the added chromas will allow players to customize their skins with new color options.

In 2017, Samsung Galaxy halted SKT T1’s streak with a commanding 3-0 victory in Beijing. This year, Gen.G, the successor to the team, aims to replicate that success and secure their first title at Worlds 2025. The champions receiving chromas from the SSG lineup include Gnar, Jarvan IV, Ezreal, Taliyah, Xayah, and Rakan.

Meanwhile, in 2018, Invictus Gaming made history by becoming the first team from LPL to overcome the odds and claim the World Championship after two second-place finishes. The iG skins are already favored among fans and professional players, and champions like Irelia, Fiora, Camille, LeBlanc, Kai’Sa, and Rakan will receive chromas, making them even more enticing for players to customize and enhance their gameplay experience.

These teams hold a significant connection to China, where Worlds 2025 will take place. This tradition of introducing chromas may continue with earlier Worlds skins, including those of SKT T1. The new chromas for iG and SSG will be accessible on the PBE in the coming days.
