The best is yet to come.
G2 Esports has faced challenges throughout 2025, leading to concerns among fans regarding the team’s previously stellar reputation due to their lack of championship titles. However, Brokenblade, the team’s top laner, states that they have gained valuable insights from their experiences.
In an interview with Sheep Esports, Brokenblade remarked, «Currently, we are the only team outperforming others in recent splits. This is a result of our active efforts to address our shortcomings.» He acknowledged that the squad encountered difficulties in earlier segments of the season but emphasized that they resolved these issues heading into the Summer Split. «We recognized the need to take decisive action to win a split, and I believe we are on the verge of accomplishing that,» he expressed, reflecting a shift in the team’s mindset.
While many European teams might view reaching the finals of two consecutive LEC Splits as an achievement, G2 has established higher expectations for themselves. For the team and their supporters, anything less than a trophy is regarded as a disappointment.
The team’s recent finals losses to Karmine Corp in the Winter Split and Movistar KOI in the Spring Split mean that the Summer Split represents their final opportunity to clinch a title and generate momentum heading into the upcoming Worlds 2025 in China.
Compounding their struggles, G2 also experienced an early departure from MSI 2025, yet their top laner reassured fans that amidst the challenges facing European teams, G2 remains on the right path with strong prospects for securing the last LEC trophy of the year.
G2 is set to face Movistar KOI next on September 14, 2025, in an upper bracket match of the LEC Summer Split playoffs, aiming to secure their position in the grand finals. Both teams have already guaranteed their participation in Worlds 2025.
