To unlock Joy in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you need to complete the «Dream On» quest, which unfolds in the Inside Out Realm and within the valley itself. Your adventure begins in the Realm, where Joy expresses her concerns regarding Riley’s upcoming talent show and wishes to use the Dream Production set to inspire Riley. Make your way to the new set that Joy discovers, as she and Sadness have been banned from another one, and listen to her plea.

Initially, players need to collect three Elegant furniture pieces from the left side of the room featuring a hint of gold to embellish the stage. Acquire the golden globe, a fireplace, and a gold plant pot, then position them behind the piano. Ensure your avatar is dressed in Elegant attire to initiate the dream. Return to Joy the following day to learn that the dream received negative feedback, and the concept didn’t resonate with anyone. After proposing the idea of creating a light stick, Joy agrees to relocate to Dreamlight Valley.

Go back to the valley and set up the emotions’ dwelling by giving Scrooge McDuck 10,000 Star Coins to finalize Joy’s arrival. However, the quest is not over, as the light stick requires additional materials to complete its crafting.

To finish the Dream On quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll need to gather various colorful materials and assemble the light stick.

Carrot	Purchase as seeds or harvested crops from Goofy’s Stall in the Peaceful Meadow.
Onyx	Mine any node randomly in any location to acquire this gem.

Once you have gathered the necessary materials, present them to Joy to craft the light stick. This will conclude the Dream On quest, after which players will need to visit Sadness in the Inside Out Realm to invite her to the valley, but only after completing another task first.
