A Big Ol’ Bunnelby Walkthrough in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
When you speak with Travelle regarding the enormous Bunnelby, he will request that you follow him to a hidden alley where he last spotted the Pokémon before it fled. To pinpoint the meeting location with Travelle, you’ll need to enable guidance mode for this mission, which will designate a quest marker on your map to track.
You should activate guidance mode at the start of the quest, but if you missed it, you can still turn it on by pressing X on the map screen to access the mission list, then use R to switch to the Side Missions tab. Here, you can activate guidance for the «Big Ol’ Bunnelby» mission by pressing A.
Follow the quest marker to reach Travelle’s position, and once there, engage him to initiate a boss battle with the giant Bunnelby.
How to Defeat the Alpha Bunnelby in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
The massive Bunnelby is categorized as an Alpha Pokemon, meaning it boasts a considerably higher health pool compared to a standard Bunnelby. Although it is only Level 10, it can easily deplete the player’s team if given the opportunity. Furthermore, it will actively attack the trainer whenever it can. Use the Y button to dodge its strikes when it targets you. Taking too much damage will result in a defeat.
As a pure Normal-type Pokémon, Bunnelby is vulnerable to Fighting-type moves and immune to Ghost-type attacks. Its Defense and Special Defense stats are relatively balanced, meaning no specific offense type is particularly advantageous against it. Additionally, it only knows Earth Power, Leer, and Tackle. Therefore, if you utilize a Flying-type Pokémon, Tackle will be its sole damaging move.
Feel free to switch between your Pokémon during the battle, making the most of that opportunity whenever possible. Use Potions and Super Potions to heal, keeping in mind that only one bag item can be applied at a time and there’s a cooldown period between uses.
If your entire team is knocked out by the giant Bunnelby, you will be taken to a Pokemon Center, and you can resume the side mission whenever you’re ready.
Once the Bunnelby’s health is low, the likelihood of catching it will significantly increase, allowing you to throw a Poke Ball for a chance of successful capture.
