Revenge of the Savage Planet invites players to journey across diverse planets, each with its own biomes filled with unique dangers. Among the obstacles on the first planet, Stellaris Prime, is the hazardous Chuggler’s Swamp, where players must contend with toxic fumes. Staying too long in this area will gradually deplete health, making it essential to acquire the Default Air Filter upgrade to navigate safely.

Unlocking the Default Air Filter Upgrade

To obtain the Default Air Filter upgrade, players must first reach Zenithian Rift in Revenge of the Savage Planet. After arriving, they’ll begin the quest titled Breathe In, Don’t Choke, which entails locating a supply crate containing the air filter. Follow these steps:

1. Proceed into an icy cavern leading toward the Brrrts Frozen Grotto.
2. Employ the Stomp ability within the region to break the cracked terrain and access the Depths of Trrn.
3. Be sure to fill your Lava resources before delving deeper, as you will need to burn spider webs using your pump gun.
4. In an open area with enemies, look for floating rocks above green-hued geysers and use the Stomp ability to break one of these rocks.
5. This action will release poisonous gas, prompting the AI Assistant to assist you in locating the Air Filter upgrade.
6. Follow the quest marker to arrive at Plyxor’s Shaft, then use the grind rails to ascend and exit into Bilodeau’s Floating Isle.
7. Continue until you reach the large vertical island in the center. Track the power cables and shoot three buttons located on the island to unlock the supply crate.
8. After opening the crate, you can collect your Default Air Filter upgrade.

While obtaining the air filter is a significant achievement, it remains ineffective until you secure the subsequent upgrade known as Toxic Deshocker.

Acquiring the Toxic Deshocker Upgrade for the Air Filter

Obtaining the Toxic Deshocker upgrade involves a straightforward process. Use the grind rails on the floating isle to reach the Summit of Ruin. Once you arrive at the top, bypass the enemies in the vicinity and enter the cave. Scan the larger creature within, which will trigger an update to the quest requiring you to capture the Alpha Toxwin.

Shoot several rounds–3-4 shots–at the creature’s head, specifically targeting the center eye. Once you’ve hit its weak point, the creature will become stunned. Utilize your whip to capture it and return to your habitat. To expedite your return, use the teleporter located at the Summit of Ruin, positioned higher up.

Once back at your base, access the terminal to research the Alpha Toxwin. Following the completion of this research, you will successfully unlock the Toxic Deshocker upgrade. Crafting this upgrade will require 400 Aluminium, 525 Carbon, and 325 Silicon. After using the 3D printer to create it, you’ll be well-equipped to explore previously inaccessible areas affected by toxic fumes in Revenge of the Savage Planet.
