Ukrainian game development company Burny Games hosted its third Games from Ukraine Reception in Cologne during gamescom. One of the highlights of the event was a charity auction that raised €19,000 in support of Ukrainian soldiers.
The most expensive lot of the evening was a pair of boxing gloves signed by Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko. The gloves sold for €6,500, with the proceeds set to go toward the purchase of a pickup truck for Ukrainian troops.
Members of the Manticore Battalion also contributed three lots to the auction, which raised an additional €3,200.
According to the organizers, charitable initiatives held as part of Games from Ukraine Reception have raised a total of €109,000 over the past four and a half years.
Ukrainian Game Development at gamescom
Games from Ukraine Reception was created as a platform where Ukrainian game developers can meet representatives of the international gaming industry, build professional connections, and strengthen the presence of Ukrainian game development at one of the world’s largest gaming events.
This year’s reception brought together Ukrainian developers, Burny Games partners, and representatives of the international game development industry.
Charity has also become an integral part of the Reception. Through its auctions, the organizers engage the international gaming community in fundraising for specific needs in Ukraine.

What Is Burny Games?
Burny Games is a Ukrainian mobile game development company founded in 2022. The studio primarily focuses on the casual mobile gaming segment, particularly puzzle games.
In addition to developing its own titles, Burny Games is expanding its publishing operations. According to the company, its games have surpassed 65 million downloads worldwide.
Another area of focus for Burny Games is engagement with both the Ukrainian and international game development communities. Games from Ukraine Reception, held during gamescom, is one of the company’s initiatives in this area.
Rather than functioning as a traditional conference or exhibition booth, the Reception is designed as a dedicated networking space where Ukrainian developers can connect with representatives of the international gaming industry.
Ukrainian entrepreneur Maksym Krippa is a co-owner of Burny Games. The company is part of the ARS Capital investment holding ecosystem.
This year marked the third Games from Ukraine Reception organized by Burny Games. Over time, the format has developed into a combination of professional networking for the Ukrainian gaming industry and charitable fundraising.
Following this year’s auction, the total amount raised through the initiative surpassed the €100,000 milestone, reaching €109,000.
