Apex Legends Season 27 Update Details: Olympus Overhaul, Legend Enhancements, Mantle Boost Mobility, and Additional Changes

Apex Legends has launched its 27th season, titled Amped, and it brings a wealth of new content. The focus has shifted to an updated version of Olympus, which now features improved rotations and more intense combat scenarios.

Characters like Valkyrie, Rampart, and Horizon have received enhancements, adding fresh dynamics to the gameplay, along with a new attachment for the Alternator that amplifies close-range damage. Adjustments to the wall-movement system and significant balance revisions have also been made.

This update addresses numerous bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and enhancements to the anti-cheat measures. Here’s a comprehensive overview of the Apex Legends season 27 patch notes.

Apex Legends Season 27 Patch Notes

Olympus Reimagined

The Olympus map has undergone an extensive redesign and returns to the rotation with several new Points of Interest–Somers University, Gravity Engine, Stabilizer, and Dockyard.

Somers University takes the place of the Orbital Cannon, featuring tall structures, open lifts, and a homage to Horizon’s son, Newton. The Gravity Engine now serves as the core of Olympus, replacing the Energy Depot and offering vertical engagements supported by zip rails throughout the area.

The new Stabilizer platform hovers in the air, contributing to Olympus’s structure while creating unique combat opportunities on scattered rocks. At the Hydroponics area, Dockyard combines familiar terrain with revised vertical spaces for intense fights.

Much of Olympus has been revamped to streamline gameplay, reducing vast open spaces and enhancing cover in high-risk areas.

Legend Buffs and Nerfs in Season 27

Valkyrie

This season, Valkyrie’s jetpack is faster and allows her to fly further. Rampart’s tactical structures have also been upgraded to include roofed Amped Walls for comprehensive bunker configurations.

The cooldown for her jetpack has been reduced from eight seconds to 2.5 seconds, and the recharge time has been cut from around 10.9 seconds to just three seconds. Fuel only begins to recharge once she lands, and the EMP effects now deplete jetpack fuel.

Her horizontal flying speed and strafe have significantly increased, and she now has additional vertical speed when ascending. The initial speed boost has been slightly reduced to about five percent slower, with total flight fuel decreased from eight seconds to six. Her Missile Swarm has had its self-damage and stun effects removed, while now including a 1.5-second scan upon impact.

The cooldown for the ability has also been improved, reduced from 30 seconds to 25. Additionally, Valkyrie can now fire her tactical while skydiving (except from the drop ship) and descend faster during skydives.

Rampart

Rampart’s Battle Modder now enhances her previous passive, Modded Loader, by also improving wall health as she levels up. Her Amped Cover now includes a roof on the shield that can be charged by inflicting damage through it, or by the wall being damaged by opponents.

The wall charge can give teammates a speed boost for going over it, with a maximum storage of 300 damage leading to a 15-second speed boost at full capacity. Wall health and shield health have also been increased with each Evo level, and other adjustments have been made for better balance.

  • Wall health boost of 200 per Evo level (maximum 800)
  • Shield health increased by 25 per Evo level (maximum 225)
  • Health during wall construction decreased (120 to 100)
  • Amped shield damage multiplier reduced (from 1.5x to 1.0x)
  • Wall grenade damage multiplier increased (from 1.0x to 2.0x)

Horizon

Horizon sees an increase in her Gravity Lift speed, climbing from 300 to 375, with a boost in hover time from 0.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds. Moreover, the cooldown has been trimmed from 25 seconds to 20 seconds.

Revenant

Revenant experiences a minimal nerf, with a reduction in the maximum velocity of his Shadow Pounce.

Double Tap Alternator

The Alternator now features a Double Tap Hop-Up that dramatically enhances its effectiveness at short ranges. Each trigger pull fires both barrels simultaneously, significantly improving the time-to-kill in close conflicts.

Additional Weapon Balancing Changes

This season brings significant updates to the Care Package weapon lineup. The Triple Take has returned to floor loot, while the C.A.R. SMG is now in the Care Package pool, complete with a unique Galvanic Gavel Hop-Up that allows players to toggle between Disruptor and Hammerpoint Rounds.

Marksman rifles receive adjustments to projectile size and headshot multipliers to mitigate mid-to-long-range engagements, while the Peacekeeper shotgun sees changes to damage and handling to better balance its power in the Care Package. Other weapons, such as the Volt SMG and Triple Take, have also been fine-tuned for enhanced consistency in combat.

Mantle Boost Movement Mastery

The movement mechanics evolve with the introduction of Mantle Boost, a new feature that rewards accurate timing and positioning during climbs.

This mechanic can be activated while scaling walls or ledges to propel yourself forward, gaining advantageous entry angles or escapes, accompanied by a visual cue for timing.

Improved Drop Zone Loot in Ranked

Ranked play receives a vital adjustment this season, with a focus on normalizing loot across established drop zones based on community feedback.

All starting locations will offer fairer loot quality, ensuring more consistency at match beginnings, while still allowing for a degree of variance to keep gameplay exciting.

Trident Enhancements

The Trident has undergone a complete control revision, featuring enhanced response and the ability to move smoothly over difficult terrain. Each Trident now has its own health pool, meaning your vehicle can be destroyed without affecting the health of the passengers.

Additions to the season include new Amped Launch Challenges for the first two weeks, leading to rewards such as Amped Seasonal Packs, a new Wishlist system, and the chase for the Mythic «Bird of Prey» R-99 skin.

Bug Fixes and Quality-of-Life Updates

Wildcard gameplay is now a permanent feature, including unpredictable modifiers like Drone Support and Speedy Charge, but some have been fine-tuned to reduce player frustration.

New social functionalities allow players to continue their matches with the same squad without re-queuing and improvements have been made to the cosmetic preview interface and voice chat options. Players using integrated graphics or handheld devices will benefit from faster loading times and UI options optimized for smaller screens.
