The upcoming agent will technically be the 28th character in VALORANT; however, they will be recognized as Agent 29 due to the mysterious absence of Agent 8 in the records of the Protocol. Although Riot has not officially announced this agent yet, there have been numerous teasers and leaks that allow us to speculate further.

Expected Release Date for VALORANT Agent 29

Agent 29 is anticipated to be introduced in VALORANT with the launch of Act Six in Season V25 on October 15.

This release timeframe is based on Riot Games’ pattern of adding three new agents each year. So far, Season V25 has presented two agents–Waylay and Tejo–early in the season, making it likely that Act Six, being the final competitive act of 2025, will be where Agent 29 makes their debut.

With the VALORANT Champions taking place in Paris, there’s a good possibility that Riot might unveil Agent 29 during the grand finale event, scheduled for October 5. Additionally, since patch 11.00, several documents found within Corrode have shown that ATLAS, the defensive unit of Omega Earth, plans to deploy a «Megaspike» during the FLX World Tour in Paris, making this timing feel quite fitting.

Name, Origin, and Role of VALORANT Agent 29

As per circulating rumors, VALORANT‘s next agent is provisionally codenamed «Morph.» However, details regarding their actual name and function remain undisclosed.

During the VCT Masters in Toronto last June, a fan posted an image on X that appeared to be a teaser displaying the silhouette and coordinates of the incoming agent, who is set to follow Waylay. The coordinates correspond to Senegal, hinting that this agent may have a Senegalese background.

Analyzing the silhouette suggests a build characteristic of a male agent, closely resembling Harbor. The agent appears to wield a sharp circular gadget, which imbues a «chakra» aesthetic. This item could either be a unique throwable weapon or a special gadget that provides them with their abilities (similarly to how Harbor wields his artifact).

Additionally, Riot has shared a player card in the Act Five battle pass to tease Agent 29. Titled «Unstoppable,» this card features a distinct symbol which is likely representative of the agent’s special ability. It can be acquired as a chapter reward upon reaching Level 50.

Teasing the morphing abilities of the new agent.

As for their role within the game, the last three agents introduced were a duelist, an initiator, and a sentinel. Since it has been over a year since a new controller agent was brought in (Clove in Episode Eight, Act Two), it stands to reason that Agent 29 may fulfill the role of a controller. However, predictions can be tricky, as Riot has sometimes revealed consecutive agents of the same class.

Insights from the lore provided via Practice Range emails suggest that Tejo, with Brimstone’s consent, has employed «an outsider» as an informant and protector for Phoenix’s sister, Mary, during the FLX World Tour in Paris. This «outsider» is likely to be our new VALORANT agent. The information regarding their background suggests they might be a support agent with substantial experience, yet specific details about their abilities remain unclear.

Potential Abilities of VALORANT Agent 29

An agent’s codename often reflects their abilities. Given Agent 29’s codename, it’s reasonable to expect a character capable of morphing their appearance, perhaps akin to Astra.

In Patch 11.06, a significant teaser for VALORANT Agent 29 appeared. If you’ve noticed a new voiceover–a male voice replacing the standard female announcer–during matches, it is likely the new agent making their presence known. The prevailing theory is that they have infiltrated Protocol’s systems for unexplained reasons, further hinting at their morphing capabilities.

While speculating, it’s possible this agent might possess the ability to change their abilities, or even sophisticated enough to manipulate enemy abilities. They could potentially have a set of abilities designed to bewilder adversaries. One intriguing thought is: what if they could transform ultimate voiceovers for the opposing team, causing confusion? That could be an exciting yet impractical feature for a VALORANT agent!
