League of Legends is innovating its gameplay by introducing new champions to unconventional roles, and Riot Games is implementing various changes to enhance the Fearless Drafts experience in anticipation of Worlds 2025.
As League approaches its significant anti-smurfing update in the forthcoming patches, the developers are applying minor buffs and nerfs to keep the gameplay dynamic without introducing major shifts.
When is LoL Patch 25.17 scheduled for release?
Updates to League are rolled out on Wednesdays, adhering to the same timeline for each new patch. These updates first arrive on the PBE servers, where new features and modifications are tested before going live for all players. The next major update is expected on August 27, 2025. The precise release times for each region are not yet finalized, but the anticipated schedules are as follows:
- 3 PM CT (NA)
- 5 AM GMT (EU West)
- 3 AM CET (EU North East)
- 8 AM KR (Korea)
What to expect in Patch 25.17?
Patch 25.17 introduces season three, featuring a fresh battle pass for players, complete with new cosmetics for champions such as Jhin and Lulu. Additionally, the highly anticipated Doom Bots mode will finally see the return of the villainous Veigar boss after a long wait of 11 years. Xin Zhao will also receive his long-awaited visual revamp in this patch. The update will offer new skins, including Elderwood Alistar, Visions of the Fallen Tryndamere, Visions of the Fallen Garen, and Prestige Visions of the Fallen Jarvan.
