Constructing a Gravship in RimWorld Odyssey

The Gravship is a recent addition featured in the RimWorld Odyssey DLC, offering players the chance to establish a mobile base for gathering rare resources around the map. However, acquiring these materials can be quite challenging.

How to Acquire a Gravship in RimWorld Odyssey

The most straightforward method to acquire a Gravship in RimWorld Odyssey is to select the Gravship scenario from the Odyssey menu. Initiating this scenario will give you the Gravship along with some resources to start expanding it. Be warned, though; a mechhive is on the prowl, and it will soon attack your ship, giving you limited time to gather essential resources like gravlite panels and relocate to a safer location.

This wandering lifestyle means you’ll be frequently relocating until you’re strong enough to weather enemy encounters or decide to engage them for their resources. While exciting, it can also feel daunting based on the challenge level, as enemies are always in pursuit. Alternatively, if you don’t want to start with a Gravship scenario, you can modify a scenario and select the Gravship as your starting vehicle to obtain it immediately.

If you prefer a more leisurely pace and enjoy building your ideal Gravship, continue through your ongoing quests until you unlock the Mechanoid Signal quest. This quest allows you to acquire the Gravship Engine from a crash site. You should focus on training your crew’s shooting skills by hunting local wildlife and forming a team to collect the critical resources required to assemble your Gravship.

Main Components for Your Gravship in RimWorld Odyssey

Research is essential for upgrading your Gravship.

Once you have obtained the engine and crucial resources like Gravlite Panels, head to your Research menu to unlock the Basic Gravitech, which will provide the essential parts for your Gravship. After completing this research, you can construct a small Chamfuel Tank, small Thrusters, and a Pilot Console via the Odyssey menu under the Architect tab. Building these components will require steel and other necessary materials.

The small Chamfuel Tank functions as the fuel source for your spacecraft, ideally requiring two small Thrusters to enable flight across various regions. The Pilot Console is where you assign a captain to command the ship, helping you navigate the universe successfully.

Additionally, you can construct the Gravship Hull to prevent oxygen leaks. The Grav Anchor ensures your local area remains intact during takeoff. If you want to expand your Gravship’s capacity, placing a Grav Field Extender will enhance the available space for structures.

By researching Standard Gravtech with 1,200 research points, you can upgrade these primary components to increase your travel range and add more features to your Gravship.
