Konami has released nearly 19 minutes of Silent Hill: Townfall gameplay, offering an extended look at exploration, combat and the mysterious CRTV pocket television ahead of the psychological horror game’s September 24 launch.
The footage provides one of the most substantial looks at Townfall since the project resurfaced earlier this year. Players take control of Simon Ordell, who finds himself on the isolated Scottish island of St. Amelia and is drawn into an apparently abandoned town buried beneath heavy fog.
Simon is tasked with putting things right, but his journey gradually becomes tied to his own history and connection with the island. Narrative fragments and environmental puzzles will reveal more about what happened to St. Amelia as players venture deeper into the town.
One of Townfall’s biggest departures from traditional Silent Hill design is its first-person perspective. Screen Burn is building the game around exploration, evasion, puzzles and combat, with Simon having access to a deliberately limited selection of weapons and tools.
The CRTV is among the most distinctive of those tools. The portable television can pick up unstable signals and appears closely connected to both progression and Townfall’s narrative. The new gameplay also shows Simon hiding from creatures before being forced into direct encounters when avoiding them is no longer an option.
Later sections introduce a more hostile version of the environment as the familiar fog gives way to a blood-red atmosphere and increasingly dangerous encounters. Simon eventually gains access to firearms, although Townfall’s limited resources suggest combat will remain only one part of its survival loop.
Townfall is being developed by Screen Burn, formerly known as No Code, and co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. The project was originally announced in 2022 before receiving its full gameplay reveal in February 2026. Unlike a direct sequel to an existing Silent Hill entry, Townfall is designed as a full-length standalone story within the wider franchise.
Its release also continues Konami’s broader revival of Silent Hill. Silent Hill f launched in September 2025 and surpassed one million copies worldwide within two days, while Konami is also developing a remake of the original Silent Hill.
The wider franchise has now surpassed 17.1 million units worldwide as of the end of March 2026, according to Konami’s internal tracking, which includes shipped copies, digital downloads and subscription services.
Silent Hill: Townfall launches September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Despite some reports listing Xbox Series X|S, Konami’s official platform list currently does not include Xbox. Digital Deluxe Edition owners will receive 48 hours of early access.
