This stage, one of nine within the event, presents a series of puzzle-filled areas, each requiring unique strategies to unlock their rewards. Successfully completing these challenges not only advances your progress in the event but also rewards you with sought-after External Detonation chests.
As players embark on the External Detonation stage, they will find that the overall mechanics are straightforward. The primary objective is to locate various switches, which can be activated by either attacking or throwing explosives at them. This elementary approach ensures that players remain engaged without becoming overwhelmed by complex gameplay mechanics.
In the first area, players will quickly discover a switch positioned conveniently for easy access. Simply attacking this switch will allow you to open the door to the next section. However, as you advance into the second area, challenges begin to increase in difficulty. Here, a moving platform introduces a timing element; players will need to strike the switch at just the right moment to halt the platform and use it to navigate safely to the other side. Don’t forget to backtrack after completing this task to collect the chest located at the back of this area.
Progressing to the next section, players will encounter a gate secured by two switches. Both can be activated by either direct attacks or strategically using an explosive barrel nearby. Should players continue on, they will reach a locked gate that requires activating four switches in total. To open this gate, players must engage with a middle platform that responds to their character’s weight, while also interacting with both pairs of switches on either side. Successfully hitting all four will unlock the path forward.
Before reaching the final puzzle area, players will need to tackle yet another locked gate. This time, three switches are in play, with two of them being moving targets, requiring players to use explosives with strategic precision. The final switch, hidden from plain sight, will need some clever navigation to locate it.
The climax of the External Detonation stage rests upon accessing a central area containing the final chest. Here, players will navigate around three surrounding platforms; one platform in particular moves on a timed cycle. The objective is to activate the nearby switch, which will set the platform in motion. Once it pauses in the middle, use this moment to cross over, ensuring to align your trajectory judiciously.
Finally, players will utilize the explosive barrel located by them to influence the third platform, orchestrating a careful cross to the end of this challenging stage and securing the last treasure of the External Detonation series.
With these strategies in mind, players can confidently take on the puzzles that define the External Detonation stage in Arknights: Endfield, unlocking rewards and advancing in their gaming journey.
