In ARC Raiders, players earn experience points (XP) for various actions above ground, such as breaching, looting, and defeating enemies. Leveling up grants skill points, which can be utilized to enhance new abilities, including improved stamina and breaching speed, as well as unlocking additional features.
Here’s a comprehensive guide on skills within ARC Raiders and the recommended skills to prioritize for unlocking.
Comprehensive Skill Trees in ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders features three distinct skill trees, each targeting a unique aspect of gameplay. Each tree comprises 15 nodes, allowing for investment of up to five points in each node to enhance their effectiveness.
The skill trees, along with their focal areas, are as follows:
- Conditioning: Enhances breaching and stamina.
- Mobility: Boosts rolling and stamina.
- Survival: Improves looting and crafting abilities.
The Mobility skill tree is the most beneficial, as it enhances stamina-related abilities, enabling better movement during combat and quicker exploration. However, there are other valuable skills in the remaining trees that should be noted when advancing your character.
Top Skills to Prioritize in ARC Raiders
Gaining access to all skills requires considerable time investment, and while it may be difficult to determine which skills to concentrate on early in the game, here’s a list of skills that are recommended for early to mid-game progression:
- In-Round Crafting (Survival): Allows for crafting items while in the field.
- Gentle Pressure (Conditioning): Reduces noise when breaching.
- Carry the Momentum (Mobility): After performing a Sprint Dodge Roll, sprinting does not consume stamina for a brief period and has cooldowns.
- Calming Stroll (Mobility): Stamina regenerates while walking as if standing still.
- Broad Shoulders (Survival): Increases carrying capacity.
- Security Breach (Survival): Enables breaching of Security Lockers.
The In-Round Crafting skill allows for the creation of simple items, such as Bandages and Shield Rechargers, while exploring. If you possess a few basic materials, it significantly enhances your chances of survival, especially when utilizing free loadouts.
Next up are Gentle Pressure and Proficient Pryer, which expedite and quieten the breaching process. Overall, the Conditioning tree has limited useful skills, predominantly geared toward critically injured or downed states. While some of these skills may be beneficial in team play, other skills provide broader advantages.
In the Mobility tree, both initial significant perks are promising. Carry the Momentum helps maintain agility during firefights, while Calming Stroll increases stamina regeneration while walking, offering a nice quality-of-life enhancement. To unlock these skills, you need to initially allocate 15 points in Mobility, with most going into Marathon Runner and Youthful Lungs.
As the game progresses towards later stages, I intend to invest heavily in the Survival tree to unlock Security Breach, which allows access to Security Lockers located in secret areas. Although the specific rewards within these lockers are unknown, it likely requires the investment of 36 points in Survival for a good reason. Additional beneficial skills, like Broad Shoulders and Looter’s Luck, can also be earned along the way.
