Hushed Whisper Optimal Rolls and Methods to Obtain Them in Destiny 2

The 2025 version of the Festival of the Lost event in Destiny 2 has brought two new weapons to hunt for in the Haunted Altars activity. One of these weapons is the Hushed Whisper bow.

Hushed Whisper is a Strand Precision Frame bow. It features various Strand perks, making it suitable for both PvE and PvP content. For players who enjoy using bows, there are specific rolls worth aiming for.

Below are the optimal Hushed Whisper rolls for PvE and PvP in Destiny 2.

What is the Hushed Whisper ideal roll in Destiny 2?

Hushed Whisper PvE ideal roll

  • Bowstring: Polymer String
  • Arrow: Compact Arrow Shaft
  • Perk one: Tear or Slice
  • Perk two: Hatchling or Explosive Head
  • Masterwork: Draw Time

Hushed Whisper PvP ideal roll

  • Bowstring: Polymer String
  • Arrow: Straight Fletching
  • Perk one: Lone Wolf
  • Perk two: Archer’s Gambit or Explosive Head
  • Masterwork: Accuracy

In PvE, Hushed Whisper is equipped with all the Strand perks, like Slice and Tear in the third column, along with Hatchling in the fourth. Slice provides an eight-second buff after utilizing your class ability, allowing you to sever targets, thereby reducing their damage output by 40 percent. Tear also sever targets, activating with precision final blows and affecting nearby foes.

However, the main drawback of Hushed Whisper in PvE is its Precision Frame classification, which contributes to a slow draw time. Depending on the mission’s difficulty, this slow draw can hinder your ability to sever targets effectively. For such instances, a perk like Successful Warm-up can significantly enhance draw time by 37.5 percent for six seconds following a kill.

Hatchling from the fourth column generates Threadlings with precision or rapid kills. Threadlings are effective at clearing groups of enemies and adding extra damage, especially when combined with your subclass. If you choose not to use Threadlings, you can opt for Explosive Head for a consistent 15 percent damage boost.

When it comes to PvP, Hushed Whisper may not appeal to every player. The Lone Wolf perk in the third column grants a base aim assist of five, increasing to ten when you’re solo, but it’s the only noteworthy perk there. While Snapshot Sights could be handy, the low draw time necessitates a less aggressive playstyle.

In the fourth column, you have two viable perks based on your approach. For general play, Explosive Head is reliable for causing additional flinch, although base damage remains consistent. Alternatively, if you enjoy hip-firing with Radiant Dance Machines or similar Exotics, Archer’s Gambit might be the way to go.

How to obtain Hushed Whisper in Destiny 2

You can acquire Hushed Whisper during the Festival of the Lost event in Destiny 2. In 2025, players can engage in two event activities: Haunted Altars and Red Rum(ble), both of which can yield event weapons as rewards for completion.

Apart from the event activities, players can participate in any Portal activity marked with the Festival of the Lost Bonus Drop icon. Achieving Grade B or higher will provide an event drop, similar to the previously implemented Bonus Drops (green engrams). As you collect Candy, you can trade it with Eva in the Tower for additional rolls.

All event loot drops at a higher tier (this does not apply to purchases from Eva in the Tower), which makes securing a god roll relatively straightforward. Dedicated players can also find holofoil variants of the weapons featuring exclusive ornaments.
