Tips for Achieving Smoke Assists in Battlefield 6

There are numerous ways to assist your squad and accumulate various assists in Battlefield 6, including suppressing foes and inflicting damage. Among the hardest assists to achieve is the smoke assist, particularly when tackling specific challenges.

Here’s a breakdown of what smoke assists entail and tips on how to achieve them in Battlefield 6.

How to Acquire Smoke Assists as a Support in BF6

Always in the thick of the action.

A smoke assist is credited when a teammate eliminates an enemy obscured by your smoke. This could occur when they are near the smoke’s edge or as the smoke dissipates, and you will receive the Smoke Assist recognition in the lower left corner as long as they secure a kill.

Smoke grenades are exclusive to the Support class. You have access to a standard smoke grenade (you start with three) and the M320A1 SMK smoke grenade launcher as a gadget.

Kills, not revives:

Using smoke to shield fallen teammates for revives does not qualify as a smoke assist; it grants the Concealed Revive accolade instead.

The optimal strategy for securing smoke assists involves deploying smoke grenades near hotly contested objectives and narrow chokepoints where your teammates are engaged in combat. As a Support, make frequent use of your Supply Bag, as being nearby significantly enhances grenade regeneration.

This tactic is especially effective in game modes such as Breakthrough and Rush, where battles typically occur over two objectives rather than five or more, like in Conquest and Escalation. In larger matches, consider staying close to a tank and throwing smoke grenades behind it. This way, those inside the tank maintain visibility, and any kills they achieve will count as your smoke assists.

Be mindful not to obscure critical lines of sight for your allies. While smoke can often benefit either side at objectives, it’s unwise to deploy it if an enemy is defusing an M-COM and no allies are nearby.
