SabeRLight Parts Ways with Team Liquid as AVULUS Unveils Fresh Roster in Significant Post-TI 2025 Roster Overhaul

This marks one of the most significant moves of the season thus far.

SabeRLight- has officially transferred to AVULUS on loan from Team Liquid, becoming a notable change after The International 2025.

The Czech offlaner, who participated in Liquid’s attempt to defend their title, now finds himself playing with a new team following a lackluster season that left both him and the organization exploring new paths. This loan arrangement allows Team Liquid to maintain his contract rights while enabling AVULUS to enhance their roster during this transitional period post-TI.

For Team Liquid, this choice brings valuable flexibility. After bringing SabeRLight- aboard last year to replace 33 after their TI 2024 victory, the team now has the opportunity to experiment with different roster configurations while still keeping a connection to an established player. In turn, AVULUS benefits from acquiring a talent with championship experience without the obligation of a permanent transfer, a smart strategy as they seek to rebuild after a challenging 2025 season.

In other developments, the hustle never ceases! I’ll be competing in the upcoming qualifiers with @teamavulus before determining my long-term future for the rest of the season. I am very eager to work with these skilled players and express my gratitude to Avulus and Liquid for enabling this loan!

This loan is particularly important for SabeRLight-, allowing him to avoid a lengthy stint on the bench while ensuring he stays engaged in high-level competitions. With the DreamLeague Season 27 qualifiers set to commence on September 24, this situation keeps him active on the international circuit while joining a team that is undergoing significant changes.

AVULUS has recently decided to keep only Smiling Knight from their former lineup, constructing a new team from scratch that now sees SabeRLight- as a pivotal member. His inclusion brings essential experience, as even though Liquid faced difficulties at TI 2025, his time with the team provided him with insights into championship strategies, high-pressure gameplay, and international contests–elements that AVULUS can leverage as they strive to regain their competitive edge.

Smiling Knight is the sole player retained from the previous lineup.

The organization’s resolve to stay committed to Dota 2 despite challenges signals a long-term vision, with this loan serving as a strategic move towards achieving stability and progress. The actual effects of this transaction will likely surface soon due to the busy tournament schedule ahead.

In addition to the immediate outcomes, the success of this arrangement hinges on how effectively SabeRLight- adapts to AVULUS’s strategies, the synergy he builds with his new teammates, and whether the team can transform this investment into competitive success. As the Dota 2 community closely observes the post-TI reshuffle, SabeRLight-’s move to AVULUS clearly stands out as one of the most significant developments of the season.
