Similar to Destiny 2, Exotic weapons are the most rare and powerful items you can find in Destiny: Rising. While you will acquire an Exotic weapon through the main campaign, this single weapon won’t suffice for your characters, especially since each character specializes in different weapon types.

How to Acquire Exotic Weapons in Destiny Rising

Farming Activities

The simplest method to farm Exotics is to engage in specific activities. Access the Adventures menu and filter to show activities that yield weapons. This includes Strikes, Gauntlet: Blitz, Gauntlet: Onslaught, among others. Completing these activities has a base chance to reward an Exotic, which can be enhanced by using Pinnacle Energy when collecting rewards. Additionally, participation in Shifting Gates can also yield Exotic weapons, depending on your performance. Higher research levels provide improved rewards.

Crafting Exotic Engrams

You can also create Exotic Weapon Engrams from your inventory, similar to how you would with Mythic Engrams. These Engrams can either provide a random weapon from a specific pool or allow for selection of a weapon. To craft one, you will need a minimum of 30 Exotic Weapon Parameters, depending on the Engram.

Participate in Events

One of the initial events allows players to choose from two Exotic weapons–Borealis, Crimson, or Huckleberry–when they log in for two consecutive weeks. This presents a significant power boost for characters using these weapons with minimal effort required.

Some events are time-limited, and the Exotics obtained during these events will usually be integrated into the broader weapon pool in their respective activities if you miss them.
