Since July 2025, Wildcard’s Counter-Strike 2 roster has seen numerous changes, and Love «phzy» Smidebrant, who recently rejoined the team, spoke out about speculations surrounding internal conflicts within the organization.

Phzy made his comeback to the American organization just prior to the launch of the team’s Fragville initiative. In a discussion with Dust2.us, he reflected on his brief loan to 9INE, expressing satisfaction with reconnecting with his former teammates, including stanislaw, JBa, and vinS, and appreciated the achievements they accomplished together. However, the abrupt nature of his recall created significant mental strain, as he had little time to get ready.

Previously, Wildcard had placed phzy, along with Tim «susp» Ångström and Peter «stanislaw» Jarguz, on the bench. This decision negatively affected the team’s ranking and left supporters feeling disillusioned, as many had high hopes for Wildcard to emerge as a leading force in North American esports.

The announcement caught the players by surprise, as they were informed of their benching just a day before it became public knowledge. This lack of prior communication complicated their search for new opportunities, prompting Phzy to describe the roster change as «managed extremely poorly.»

A major revelation from phzy was the claim that a manager had utilized ChatGPT to recommend new players. When questioned about the veracity of this rumor, he confirmed, «Yep.» This revelation was amusing to the Swedish CS2 professional, especially considering the team had performed well prior to these changes.

Phzy acknowledged that rebuilding trust will be a challenging endeavor after what many have labeled as the «worst moves of 2025.» He remarked, «It’s something that lingers in your mind.» He expressed feelings of betrayal related to the Stewie2K situation, along with being benched. «It’s hard to give them another shot, but there’s not much I can do about it, right?»

Despite the turmoil, he remains dedicated to contributing to a turnaround. «I just need to concentrate on my performance, and that’s all,» he stated.

Phzy commended stanislaw’s leadership qualities, and his initial thoughts on new teammates Peeping and F1KU were favorable, praising their in-game communication and supportive roles during team discussions.

With the new roster having minimal practice time before their upcoming event, Phzy believes their success will largely depend on individual skills rather than team coordination.
