Playing Destiny Rising on a Mac: A Guide

Destiny Rising is primarily designed for mobile devices, but for those who prefer PC gaming, NetEase provides support via an official emulator. However, Mac users might encounter some limitations.

Similar to Destiny 2, Rising offers a cross-platform first-person shooter experience. Players can join forces with friends across various mobile systems (iOS or Android) and those utilizing the MuMu emulator on Windows. Unfortunately, the process is not as straightforward for Mac users; simply downloading the emulator and installing the game is currently not an option.

Here’s how to get started with Destiny Rising on Mac.

Can You Play Destiny Rising on Mac?

In theory, Destiny Rising should be playable on a Mac using the recommended MuMu emulator or other similar services.

However, users have reported various issues preventing game launches through MuMu or other emulators on macOS. Despite claims from the official site, it seems that Mac compatibility for Rising is limited at this moment.

NetEase is expected to address these issues in the future, enabling proper emulator support for Mac. In the meantime, a workaround is available.

How to Play Destiny Rising on Mac Using Sideloadly

Before proceeding with this workaround, check if Destiny Rising functions properly with the MuMu emulator. If not, you will need to download Sideloadly (credit to u/Aqoric on Reddit for this method) and «sideload» the game from the App Store. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the Mac version of Sideloadly from its official website and run it with administrative privileges (Open Terminal, type sudo, and paste the location of the Sideloadly executable).
  2. Next, visit armconverter.com in your browser and create an account if you don’t already have one. Once logged in, click on the three horizontal lines menu and select Decrypted IPA Store. Look for Destiny Rising and navigate to its page in the library.
  3. On this page, click on Decrypt the app and wait for the Install with Sideloadly option to show up. Click on it once it appears.
  4. When the Sideloadly prompt appears, enter your Apple ID and click Start.
  5. Finally, you should find Destiny Rising in the Games folder. Run it with administrative rights, and you should enjoy the game without any problems.

Keep in mind that using this method may lead to some performance drawbacks in Destiny Rising. However, this solution is temporary as NetEase is anticipated to resolve the issues with the MuMu emulator, eliminating the need for sideloading in the future.
