Is Free Early Access Available for Existing Path of Exile Players?

Fortunately for loyal fans, Grinding Gear Games is providing early access codes to those who have invested significantly in the original game–specifically, players who have spent a total of $480 on PoE purchases.

Players can also opt to spend money on the Third Edict Mystery Box through in-game microtransactions during early access. However, these items are strictly cosmetic and do not influence gameplay.

Will Players Who Pay for Early Access Receive Extra Content?

Good news for early access buyers: funds spent on the game will be repaid in the form of in-game currency. For instance, if a player purchases the basic early access supporter pack for $29.99, they will receive an equivalent amount in in-game currency. This can be used to acquire various items that enhance character abilities.

Despite this, the game is not designed to be pay-to-win. Experienced PoE players know that all items can be earned through gameplay. Furthermore, Grinding Gear Games has confirmed that a pay-to-win scheme will not be implemented.

For those who can wait and aren’t particularly keen on action RPGs, holding off for the official release and the free-to-play transition might be wise. However, if you’re eager to dive into the gameplay, early access offers plenty to explore.
