The journey leading up to The Grand Major is expected to be lively, with the Open Qualifiers commencing in August 2025. Some specific dates are not yet available, but updates will follow as information becomes accessible.

Open Qualifiers: August 30 and September 6
Closed Qualifiers: N/A
The Grand Major: November 28 – November 29

Format of THE FINALS The Grand Major 2025

Open Qualifiers

The tournament encompasses three regions (NA, EMEA, and APAC), starting with the Open Qualifiers. During the seeding phase, teams compete in three best-of-three heats in a 3v3 Final Round game mode. A single-elimination bracket follows, where the top eight teams progress to the Closed Qualifiers.

There will be two Open Qualifier events in both NA and EMEA, allowing a total of 16 teams per region to reach the Closed Qualifiers.

Regarding APAC:The format may vary slightly in APAC, as it is managed by Nexon and Tencent.

Closed Qualifiers

The Closed Qualifiers use a hybrid elimination format featuring two modes: Cashout (3v3v3v3) and Final Round (3v3), similar to the standard THE FINALS matches. The first stage consists of four Cashout games, with two teams advancing to the Final Round from each game, earning a place at The Grand Major.

Teams that do not win their initial Cashout matches participate in additional rounds until only four teams remain. In the second stage, those four teams that lost in the first stage’s Final Round compete against the four from the losers’ bracket.

The top seven teams from NA, the top six teams from EMEA, and the top three teams from APAC will secure their positions for The Grand Major.

The opening day of The Grand Major also utilizes the hybrid elimination format, where teams vie for advancement to the second day. Out of 16 teams, only eight will continue to day two, where the format transitions.

On the second day, the eight teams will be narrowed down to four. The final quartet will compete against each other in Cashout and best-of-two Final Round formats, with victories in the Final Round earning one point each. The first team to accumulate five points will claim victory at The Grand Major.
