While you choose a difficulty option at the start, this does not fully dictate the toughness of every opponent you will encounter in your adventure.

As you enter the character creation screen, you will initially see three difficulty options:
Normal serves as the standard difficulty level. Neophyte is the easiest mode, allowing your character to take only half damage while enjoying quicker health regeneration.
Hardcore is the most challenging setting, where character death is permanent. Should your character perish, you will need to create a new one to continue the storyline.
How to Adjust the Difficulty Level in Titan Quest 2
To modify the difficulty in Titan Quest 2, you will need to visit the Shrine located in the northern part of Pyrgo city.
By interacting with the Rituals of Ares, you can choose to either raise or lower the enemy difficulty level. Keep in mind that this adjustment will require Gold, so it’s wise to accumulate a good amount of currency.
The current enemy difficulty level will be displayed above the adjustment slider; adjust the level as desired, ensure you have the necessary Gold, and then click the Accept button.
Additionally, there are two other options available: Elevate enemy levels in previous areas and Respawn Enemies. Selecting the first will increase the levels of all enemies in previous regions, granting you more experience and improved loot when you defeat them again.
Choosing «Respawn Enemies» will bring back every foe you have previously vanquished. Both of these options also come with a Gold cost. Since Titan Quest 2 does not feature level scaling, enhancing your character’s attributes will help you tackle tougher enemies more effectively.
