Contrary to many other materials in Abiotic Factor, farming Fiber Optic Cable can be tricky. As of now, it can only be acquired through trade at the Blacksmith’s Shop located in Manufacturing West. This shop features a window in a white structure topped with a large sign labeled «F.O.R.G.E.» When you approach, you’ll see the Blacksmith NPC inside.
To obtain a Fiber Optic Cable, you’ll need to exchange one Solder with the Blacksmith through the Drop Box situated just outside the window. After placing your Solder in the Drop Box, check the Trader Output box beside it to receive your Fiber Optic Cable.

How to obtain Solder in Abiotic Factor
Solder is a craftable resource in Abiotic Factor. You can create it using a Cooking Pot on a Stove with the right materials, but first, you must unlock the recipe. Visit the Blacksmith’s Shop and examine the steaming Cooking Pot on the left side of the shop window to unlock the Solder recipe for crafting.
Once the recipe is unlocked, follow these steps to create Solder in Abiotic Factor:
- Hold a Cooking Pot and fill it with clean water.
- Place the pot on a Stove, adding one Metal Scrap and one Silver Scrap.
- Allow this mixture, known as «Uncooked Solder,» to cook for a while, producing four portions of Solder.
- You can then place the pot down and «scoop» the Solder to add it to your inventory.
Now that you have Solder, take it to the Blacksmith’s Shop to exchange it for Fiber Optic Cable at a 1:1 ratio.
