Completing the Explore Kepler: Fabled Quest in Destiny 2 – The Edge of Fate

After finishing the Edge of Fate campaign in Destiny 2, players should progress into the Fabled difficulty tier, which sits at 150 Power and offers consistent opportunities to obtain Tier 2 gear.

Upon entering Fabled Kepler, players can initiate the Explore Kepler: Fabled quest at the Altar of Relativity. This quest necessitates collecting a total of six Strangelets, composed of four previously encountered and two new ones.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to completing the Explore Kepler: Fabled quest and gathering all Strangelets in Destiny 2.

Explore Kepler: Fabled Quest Guide in Destiny 2

Replay Four Campaign Missions

The reward is worth the effort.

The first four Strangelets correspond to the same campaign missions players have previously completed. Look for four red markers on the map that indicate where to start these missions. Complete each mission as usual and then return to the Altar of Relativity after each one to deposit your Strangelet.

While this may feel repetitive, players can speed up the journey by transforming into the Matterspark without any time constraints.

Locating Two Secret Strangelets

The final two Strangelets are concealed within the open world. You will need to explore two major areas: Outer Wastes (top left) and Curtilage Divide (bottom right) of the map.

Outer Wastes

The Strangelet is behind a barrier.

Within the Outer Wastes zone, you’ll discover the Strangelet shielded by a fallen barrier on a ledge. Alongside, there is a facility protected by lasers which houses a target for the Relocator.

Proceed past the facility to find a Relocator cannon adjacent to the mission beacon. Target the Relocator at the shielded target, then return to the portal. Inside the facility, drop down the hatch and utilize Matterspark to access a Fallen terminal. Interact with the terminal and then head back.

You’ll notice a rally banner available. Rally and activate the signal beacon using the terminal nearby. This triggers a fight against the Eliksni, where you must defeat two Captains and a Walker before the six-minute timer expires. Collect the Strangelet and return it to the Altar.

Curtilage Divide

Treasure awaits.

The subsequent Strangelet is slightly more challenging to obtain. Travel to the Curtilage Divide by heading south from the area’s landing zone until arriving at a room filled with cables and hanging platforms. The Strangelet is on top of the main structure, shielded.

While standing on the Strangelet looking towards the back, take note of these three locations:

  1. A lasered door in the bottom right, where the Relocator can be found.
  2. The Matter Realignment located across the room.
  3. A small chamber at the highest point of the area.
Everything you need in one location.

Go to the lasered door, disable the barriers to obtain the Relocator, and bring it to the Matter Realignment spore to gain the necessary ability. Create a bridge using the platforms to connect you to the Strangelet. Transport the Relocator to the upper room and aim it at the target inside (the portal resides on the final platform). Interact with the terminal to activate the system purge.

Now head back to the Strangelet, rally to the banner, activate the system purge below it, and prepare for another encounter. This time, there’s no timer, but be wary of defusing the occasional splinter mines that the boss spawns in the area. Defeating the boss will allow you to deliver the Strangelet to the Altar.

Defeat The Archon on Fabled Difficulty

The ultimate challenge awaits.

The concluding task of the Explore Kepler: Fabled quest involves defeating The Archon during the final mission of The Edge of Fate campaign on Fabled difficulty. This lengthy mission includes three boss encounters, presenting a more formidable challenge than most other activities at this level.
