Complete List of Maps in VALORANT

VALORANT has expanded its map selection significantly since its inception, constantly keeping players on their toes as they explore fresh hiding spots and strategize with their chosen agents.

Maps like Breeze present players with long sightlines ideal for snipers or rifles, while others like Split offer tight corridors that foster intense firefights. There’s a VALORANT map that caters to every player’s style, and new maps are regularly introduced.

In contrast to League of Legends, which is restricted to Summoner’s Rift, VALORANT features diverse maps that enhance gameplay strategies, giving each agent an opportunity to shine as a vital member of the team. However, certain maps tend to favor specific agents, providing them with distinct advantages. Below are all current maps available in VALORANT, along with useful tips and tricks that may be crucial for your success.

Overview of VALORANT Maps

The changing lineup of maps may be daunting for newcomers. Presently, there are 12 maps in VALORANT:

  • Ascent
  • Bind
  • Breeze
  • Fracture
  • Haven
  • Icebox
  • Pearl
  • Split
  • Lotus
  • Sunset
  • Abyss
  • Corrode

Maps are frequently tweaked and modified to ensure a balanced experience, especially if players discover ways to exploit certain positions.

Not every map is available in competitive play, so you don’t need to master them all before diving into ranked matches.

For now, seven maps are in rotation, but this could change as VALORANT approaches a new season.

Ascent

Ascent offers numerous opportunities for tactical plays.

Set in Italy, Ascent is described by Riot as «an open playground,» featuring just two sites–A and B. Each site has two entrances, but the central area is key for flanking and strategizing. Additionally, players can use impenetrable doors for surprise tactics and quick exits.

Bind

Fun awaits with Bind’s teleporters.

Bind is the epitome of simplicity among VALORANT maps, featuring just two sites and no mid-section. However, it remains engaging due to its two one-way teleporters that facilitate sneaky tactics. Be mindful that every time an agent or object traverses a teleporter, an audio cue alerts nearby players. The compact design minimizes callouts, requiring your focus primarily on the sites.

Breeze

Strategize to navigate the challenges of Breeze.

This map is located in the Bermuda Triangle and features two sites that need protection. However, the expansive central area keeps attackers on their toes. Ropes add complexity to navigation, allowing players to push their limits. Given the open layout, long-range weapons like the Marshall are advantageous, while Phantom and Spectre are preferred choices if funds allow.

Fracture

Fracture showcases unique gameplay dynamics.

The US-designed Fracture may appear straightforward at first, but it stands out with its significant neutral area, making paranoia a constant companion. Players must remain vigilant as enemies can strike unexpectedly. The presence of zip lines and an automatic door can easily expose player locations. This map often generates mixed feelings among the community.

Haven

Haven is expansive and challenging.

Despite its name, Haven is anything but a safe space. This huge map features three sites and the potential for surprise confrontations. The distribution of ultimate orbs remains unchanged, limited to the A and C areas. With numerous tight corners, bringing a Shorty for close encounters can be advantageous.

Icebox

Icebox demands adaptiveness in gameplay.

Icebox, despite not being large, is far from straightforward. It emphasizes game knowledge and adaptability, requiring players to adjust constantly. With two planting sites, various elevated positions, and ample cover, mastering this map is crucial for ranked play.

Pearl

Pearl is a popular choice among players.

When in need of a solid VALORANT match, Pearl is the ideal map. Unlike Icebox, it features a clearer design with only two sites and three corridors, eliminating complex tools to master. For optimal performance, players should consider agents like Astra or Killjoy, both of whom can effectively control important map areas.

Split

Split brings vertical gameplay into focus.

Split is characterized by various ascenders that connect different parts of the map. Attention must be paid not only to the two sites and surrounding corridors but also to potential threats from above. Agents like Raze, Omen, and Killjoy are vital for maintaining control of higher vantage points.

Lotus

Lotus offers an exciting mix of tactics.

Lotus is not the simplest map, but it’s one of the most entertaining. Featuring three sites, multiple spawn points, ropes, rotating doors, and a destructible wall, the map allows for creative strategies. Players can utilize both close- and long-range weapons and should consider using Omen and Raze to enhance their team’s synergy.

Sunset

Sunset combines strategy with the familiar VALORANT design.

Located in Los Angeles, Sunset features two distinct sites and ample space to explore, organized into three lanes. This map strikes a balance between advanced tactics and the classic simplicity VALORANT players appreciate. To excel, agents like Yoru, Raze, or Chamber are ideal choices to secure and maintain control of critical areas.

Abyss

Abyss presents thrilling vertical gameplay.

The newest addition, Abyss, allows players to navigate its unpredictable heights while confronting enemies. It is unique for having no outer borders and features a mid-section with a fatal drop, creating opportunities for both strategies and unexpected chaos. Players must manage two planting sites, a key central area, and various defensive angles. Strategic intel is essential, making initiators and agents like Astra or Omen critical to team composition.

Corrode

Corrode’s historical design adds depth to gameplay.

The latest map, Corrode, incorporates a three-lane, two-site layout situated in a «radianite salt mining facility» inspired by Normandy, France’s architecture. Players can appreciate its rustic aesthetics, while the gameplay demands a mix of strategic planning and execution. Given its vast playable area, clearing corners and anticipating enemy movements can be challenging, making the inclusion of Cyphers and Sovas vital to maintain information flow.
