In Roblox Grow a Garden, various weather phenomena can occur, but few are as intriguing as chocolate rain. These weather events impact all servers at once, enhancing crop growth and introducing unique mutations. Some mutations are exceptionally rare and can greatly increase the market value of your crops. Chocolate rain, in particular, is not a standard weather event that players can expect to see anytime.
This guide will cover everything you need to know about how the chocolate rain event is activated in Roblox Grow a Garden, as well as what the chocolate mutation does for your crops.
Activating Chocolate Rain in Grow a Garden
Only an admin of Grow a Garden can trigger the chocolate rain weather event. The last occurrence was in the early hours of May 27, 2025. This means players have no control over activating chocolate rain in-game; instead, they must rely on the chance of being online when an admin rekindles the event.
Understanding the Chocolate Mutation in Grow a Garden
Chocolate rain results in the Chocolate mutation, which enhances the sale price of crops and fruits by a 2x multiplier. This can significantly benefit players selling crops and fruits, providing novice players a valuable boost in their gardening journey.
The chocolate mutation is visually identifiable, as affected plants will appear brown.
Alternative Methods for Acquiring Chocolate Mutation
The chocolate mutation can also be acquired by placing a Chocolate Sprinkler next to any multi-use plant, like strawberries or blueberries. However, the Chocolate Sprinkler was exclusively obtainable during the 2025 Easter event, where it cost 500,000 Sheckles.
As of now, it remains uncertain if the Chocolate Sprinkler will be offered in future Easter events. The radius for the sprinkler’s effect is noted with a green circle around it, as illustrated in the previous section.
Other common weather events include rain, frost, and thunderstorms, all capable of inducing mutations. Additionally, Wet and Chilled mutations provide the same 2x multiplier as Chocolate, while Frozen mutations offer a 10x multiplier. Therefore, while witnessing Chocolate Rain in Grow a Garden is enjoyable, the Chocolate mutation itself may not be overly exceptional.
