Ukraine at gamescom 2026 will have its largest dedicated presence yet, with the country’s game industry represented across two separate areas of the Cologne event. Alongside the returning Games from Ukraine business pavilion, Ukrainian indie developers will have their own dedicated space for the first time.
Games from Ukraine is returning to gamescom for a fourth consecutive year. Its B2B pavilion is designed primarily for studios and service companies looking to meet publishers, potential partners and other representatives of the international games industry.
GSC Game World, Flexus, Mobihunter, Mind Studios Games, AB Games, PlayToMax and Ukrainian Fight Drone Simulator are set to be represented in the business area. The lineup combines game developers with companies providing services across different parts of the industry.
GSC Game World is the most internationally recognizable name in the group. Founded in Kyiv, the studio behind the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Cossacks franchises remains one of Ukraine’s highest-profile developers following the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
The studio is owned by Ukrainian businessman and investor Maksym Krippa, who acquired GSC Game World through his company in 2023. Krippa has built a broader portfolio across Ukraine’s gaming and esports industries: he is also the owner of esports organization NAVI and has investments connected to Maincast, one of the country’s best-known esports broadcasting companies. His ownership of GSC places one of Ukraine’s most internationally recognizable game developers within a wider group of gaming and esports assets.
Flexus also brings significant international reach to the pavilion. The Kyiv-based mobile studio says its portfolio has surpassed 300 million downloads across more than 150 countries. AB Games, meanwhile, focuses on free-to-play titles, with its Hidden City attracting more than one million daily players.
The biggest change for Ukraine at gamescom 2026 comes outside the B2B section. A separate Ukrainian pavilion will make its debut in the event’s Indie Area, giving smaller development teams a dedicated space to put their games in front of the wider gamescom audience.
Warfactory and Steel Core, RACE: Rocket Arena Car Extreme, Floralis, Age After Age and ATOM RPG 2 are included in the indie lineup.
The two-pavilion setup effectively splits Ukraine’s presence between different sides of the industry. The established Games from Ukraine space will remain focused on business connections, while the new Indie Area booth creates a more public-facing platform for independent developers and their upcoming games.
It also marks another step in the development of the Games from Ukraine initiative. After three consecutive appearances at gamescom, the 2026 edition will be the first to feature a separate space specifically aimed at giving Ukrainian indie teams greater international visibility.
Gamescom 2026 takes place in Cologne from August 26-30, following Opening Night Live on August 25. For the participating Ukrainian studios, the event provides both direct access to one of gaming’s largest audiences and an opportunity to meet publishers and potential partners ahead of the industry’s busy fall release window.
