Ukrainian media company Maincast continues to expand beyond esports with the launch of a new weekly football show. Titled UPL Evening, the program will focus on the biggest stories and developments in the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL). The first episode will premiere on August 3 at 8:00 p.m.
In each episode, the Maincast Sport team will discuss matches from the latest UPL round. Beyond the results, the show will feature tactical analysis, discussions of controversial refereeing decisions, transfer news, and other major developments in Ukrainian football.
The format will also include expert discussions, dedicated segments, and guest appearances.
The idea for the new show emerged following the launch of another Maincast sports project, NBA Evening. According to Maincast co-founder Vitaliy Volochay, the team decided to apply a similar approach to promoting Ukraine’s domestic football league.
«We are creating this show not only for those who have been following the UPL closely for years, but also for those who, for whatever reason, have never watched it or have only watched it occasionally,» Volochay explained.
Maincast Expands Its Sports Business
Maincast was founded in 2018 and has grown into one of Ukraine’s best-known esports broadcasters. In recent years, however, the company has been actively expanding into traditional sports content.
Maincast currently operates the Maincast Sport TV channel and its own online platform, Maincast.tv. Through these platforms, the company broadcasts and covers not only esports tournaments but also basketball, football, motorsports, and other sports.
At the same time, Maincast is investing in original content built around its sports broadcasts. The company produces analytical studio shows, podcasts, and entertainment programs, while UPL Evening will extend this content strategy into Ukrainian club football.
Maincast is part of the portfolio of ARS Capital, the business holding company of entrepreneur Maksym Krippa. His other assets include esports organization NAVI and GSC Game World, the game development studio behind the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
The first episode of UPL Evening will air on August 3 at 8:00 p.m. The show will be available on the Maincast Sport TV channel, the Maincast.tv platform, and Maincast’s YouTube channel.
