A potential World of Warcraft and Dungeons & Dragons crossover has surfaced ahead of Gen Con 2026 after an apparent product listing briefly appeared on Roll20 before being taken offline.

According to screenshots preserved by tabletop community members, the listing promoted a project titled D&D World of Warcraft alongside the tagline «Roll for Azeroth.» The page also referenced pre-orders, suggesting the product was close to its official reveal before it was accidentally published.

Neither Blizzard Entertainment nor Wizards of the Coast has confirmed the project. However, because Roll20 is an official digital partner for Dungeons & Dragons, the leak has been treated as more credible than a typical online rumor.

If announced, the release would mark Warcraft’s first official return to tabletop role-playing in more than two decades. Earlier Warcraft and World of Warcraft RPG books were published in 2003 and 2005 using D&D’s third-edition rules, but those titles were licensed to White Wolf rather than developed directly by Wizards of the Coast. A new release would instead bring Azeroth into the modern fifth-edition ecosystem.

The crossover would also fit Wizards of the Coast’s broader strategy of expanding Dungeons & Dragons through major entertainment franchises. Recent years have seen collaborations with properties including Minecraft, Stranger Things and Rick and Morty, while Magic: The Gathering has continued to grow its Universes Beyond lineup with brands such as Fallout and Final Fantasy.

Although no gameplay details have been confirmed, industry observers expect the project to take the form of a fifth-edition campaign setting or sourcebook, allowing players to explore Azeroth using official D&D rules rather than a standalone RPG system.

More information is expected during the D&D Vision Keynote at Gen Con 2026 on July 30. If the leak proves accurate, the presentation could officially unveil one of the most anticipated tabletop crossovers of the year.
