Riot Games will continue to celebrate the legacy of Maciej «Shushei» Ratuszniak, the first-ever League of Legends World Champion, by introducing a tribute item in League Classic.

The upcoming nostalgic game mode will feature Shushei’s Mana Jug, an item named after the former Fnatic star. According to datamined information, it replaces the classic Athene’s Unholy Grail while retaining its familiar gameplay functionality, turning the item into a permanent tribute to the Polish esports icon, who passed away in April 2025.

The addition follows several previous tributes from Riot Games. During a dedicated LoL Esports event, players were able to claim the Fnatic Gragas championship skin for free, while Shushei was also referenced in the official Worlds 2025 anthem.

The renamed item also carries historical significance. Athene’s Unholy Grail originally received its name through Riot’s Refer-a-Friend program, which rewarded content creator Athene for reaching a major referral milestone. In League Classic, Riot has chosen to replace that reference with one honoring a player whose achievements helped shape the early competitive history of League of Legends.

Shushei’s Mana Jug is not the first in-game tribute of its kind. Long-time League of Legends players will also recognize Total Biscuit of Everlasting Will, an item dedicated to British gaming journalist and content creator John «TotalBiscuit» Bain.

League Classic launches on July 29, bringing players back to the early years of League of Legends with classic gameplay systems, legacy items, old rune mechanics, and other nostalgic features from the game’s formative era.
