Agape God Rolls and Methods to Acquire Them in Destiny 2

The latest expansion, Edge of Fate, in Destiny 2, has unveiled a fresh loot tiering system along with numerous new weapons to pursue. Among these is the Agape Solar hand cannon, which boasts some of the most advantageous perks for PvE activities.

Agape is classified as a Heavy Burst Solar hand cannon, marking it as the inaugural weapon of its kind and featuring perks like Heal Clip, Incandescent, Firefly, and others. While it excels in PvE scenarios, it also has some viable options for PvP.

What is the ideal Agape roll in Destiny 2?

Agape PvE ideal roll

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Perk one: Heal Clip
  • Perk two: Incandescent or Burning Ambition
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Agape PvP ideal roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk one: Moving Target
  • Perk two: Precision Instrument
  • Masterwork: Range

The Agape hand cannon features a powerful combination of Heal Clip and Incandescent for optimal PvE performance. Heal Clip allows players to heal themselves and nearby allies after reloading post-kill, while Incandescent is brilliant for clearing groups of enemies while inflicting scorch damage.

Additionally, there is a new perk available through the Edge of Fate expansion, named Burning Ambition. This perk functions similarly to Jolting Feedback found on Arc weapons, where sustained damage from the weapon causes scorch, with further damage applied to already scorched targets adding more stacks.

Reload speed

It is important to highlight that Agape suffers from very slow reload speed. Therefore, equip a Flared Magwell and/or opt for a reload speed Masterwork. The Tactical mod can also be beneficial for enhancing reload speed and overall handling.

Hunters using Lucky Pants should aim for a roll with Rewind Rounds and Vorpal Weapon to maximize damage output. Although Agape may not rival the sheer damage potential of Warden’s Law due to its Energy weapon classification, it remains effective as an alternative in the Kinetic slot.

In the realm of PvP, the situation becomes more complex. The Edge of Fate expansion has only recently been released, which means there isn’t sufficient data yet to determine if Heavy Burst hand cannons are more effective in PvP compared to those from The Final Shape. However, they may prove potent with significant investment in the Weapons stat.

For now, in the PvP context, Moving Target provides increased movement speed and target acquisition while aiming down sights. Pair it with Precision Instrument or Master of Arms for enhanced damage potential.

How to acquire Agape in Destiny 2

The Agape hand cannon can drop from any activity in Kepler within Destiny 2. One of the simplest methods to obtain a Tier 2 drop early in the campaign is by unlocking chests scattered across the destination. These chests often require solving minor puzzles with dark matter abilities, like Matterspark, but yield superior loot compared to regular campaign missions.

Additionally, players can attune to a specific Kepler drop at the Altar of Relativity located in the Caldera region of Kepler. This area is inhabited by the Aionians, and players will need to deliver various strangelet capsules throughout the campaign.
