If you’re aiming to survive the challenges in R.E.P.O., mastering your movement across the maps while minimizing visibility is crucial.
Here’s a comprehensive overview of all R.E.P.O. maps.
Overview of R.E.P.O. Maps
Despite having just four maps, there’s a great deal of variation as the layout, valuable items, and spawn points change each time you enter. You won’t know which map you’ll encounter until the next level loads post a visit to the Service Station. Furthermore, entering these maps from level three onward significantly alters their complexity and increases difficulty. It’s not just the map structure that evolves; the threat level and number of monsters also intensify.
Initially, monsters often spawn farthest from the extraction point. Keep an eye on opened doors during exploration as they hint at nearby threats.
Similar to Lethal Company, any monster could appear in R.E.P.O., although some are more frequently encountered. Familiar foes like the Apex Predator and the Chef will appear in greater numbers as you progress.
As the complexity of maps increases, so does the variety of monsters. In the first level, players face two types of enemies. The quantity of monsters present in any given level expands depending on how many valuable items you’re required to extract (the monster count is indicated by a red counter).
The four maps in R.E.P.O. include:
- Headman Manor
- McJannek Station
- Swiftbroom Academy
- The Avant-Garde
Here’s a streamlined overview of what to expect on each R.E.P.O. map.

Always consult the map (by pressing Tab) if you become disoriented. It shows the location of the C.A.R.T. and any activated extraction points, while tracking any valuables you have observed but not collected (which appear as yellow dots), guiding you back to the R.E.P.O. truck for extraction.
Headman Manor
Though named after the Headman, this map doesn’t guarantee the presence of that specific monster at all times. The Manor consists of numerous narrow hallways, courtyards, and multiple floors, making it the trickiest map to navigate, especially as you advance. Death drops can unexpectedly appear, punishing those who overlook their surroundings or panic. The claustrophobic nature of Headman Manor contributes to its difficulty, with monsters able to corner players during extractions.
Key hiding spots include underneath beds, in the bottom drawers of cabinets (crouching is necessary to fit), under tables, and in corridor nooks. The multiple levels allow players to maneuver the C.A.R.T. between floors without risking damage to heavier valuables.
McJannek Station
McJannek Station mainly features large rooms connected by broad corridors filled with loot. This map is the easiest to learn, but its layout encourages monsters to wander into extraction zones. With limited hiding spots, players may need to stay crouched when playing solo since the open areas make spotting you easier, especially if you haven’t upgraded your stamina or speed. Keep an eye on the large rooms with ramps and a death pit at the bottom to avoid accidental falls.
Effective hiding options are generally limited to behind large doors, beneath tables, or in side rooms where doors can be closed. Utilize the large doors, as monsters tend to overlook areas behind them if they’re already opened. Unlike the wooden doors found in the Academy and Manor, these doors are sturdier.
Swiftbroom Academy
Swiftbroom Academy, home to the Clown, features a variety of bizarre monsters like the Alien, Chef, Spewer, and Apex Predator. Portions of this map are shrouded in darkness, isolating it from the outside world. The peculiar layout can lead straight from monster spawns to randomly positioned staircases, making it hard to anticipate potential threats. The map also introduces hazards like death pits, lava, and acid pools, creating opportunities for players to engage monsters while increasing the risk of falling into the Disposal Arena.
Numerous hiding spots are available, as players can crouch under tables, counters, or in small side rooms typically containing a bed. Additionally, players can use the C.A.R.T. as partial cover while moving it towards their objectives.
The Avant-Garde
Launched with R.E.P.O.‘s initial update, The Avant-Garde features a vast open floor layout. Most connecting rooms are sizable, similar to McJannek Station, making it easier to evade danger than in Headman Manor. However, the extensive design allows enemies to see and pursue you more effectively, punishing those without upgraded skills, especially in stamina and health.
Unlike the other maps, hiding spots are minimal in The Avant-Garde. Players can crouch beneath small shelving units, but this offers limited protection. Therefore, teamwork becomes crucial when navigating this map since its complex layers require careful maneuvering to reach the Extraction Point without damaging quirky yet valuable items.
