Rockstar Games will deliver its next major GTA 6 presentation on August 27, less than three months before the game is scheduled to launch. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere exclusively on Netflix before arriving on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the official GTA VI website six hours later.
The GTA 6 Extended Look will debut on Netflix at 3pm ET on August 27. It will then become available through Rockstar’s usual channels at 9pm ET.
The rollout represents an unusual approach for Rockstar. Netflix will have a six-hour exclusivity window for the presentation before it becomes freely available elsewhere.
Rockstar has not disclosed the presentation’s runtime or provided a detailed breakdown of what will be shown. The studio is officially describing it as an Extended Look rather than simply Trailer 3, leaving open the possibility of a more detailed presentation than its previous GTA VI videos.
It will be the first major GTA 6 footage released since Trailer 2 in May 2025. That video expanded on protagonists Jason and Lucia while providing a broader look at Vice City and other locations across the fictional state of Leonida.
Trailer 2 was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5 and consisted of roughly equal parts gameplay and cutscenes. Rockstar has yet to release a dedicated gameplay presentation that breaks down GTA 6’s mechanics and systems in detail.
That makes the Extended Look particularly significant as the game’s marketing campaign enters its final months. With launch approaching, Rockstar still has room to reveal more about the open world, gameplay systems and the structure of Jason and Lucia’s story.
The promotional cycle has already accelerated in recent months. Pre-orders opened on June 25, with the standard edition priced at $79.99 and an Ultimate Edition listed at $99.99.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC version.
The release carries considerable weight for parent company Take-Two as well. Grand Theft Auto has surpassed 470 million units sold-in across the franchise, making GTA VI the next entry in one of the industry’s largest commercial properties.
Following the August 27 presentation, Rockstar will have less than three months to complete its final pre-release marketing cycle. Pre-loading is scheduled to begin on November 12, one week before GTA 6 officially launches.
