Mastering the RPD Scavenger Hunt: Your Guide to Cracking the Code in Resident Evil Requiem

The highly anticipated game, Resident Evil Requiem, marks the franchise’s thrilling return to Raccoon City, delving once again into the iconic landscape of the Raccoon City Police Department (RPD). Notably, players will find that the ruins of the RPD are packed with secrets, puzzles, and challenges reminiscent of the acclaimed Resident Evil 2.

As players navigate through the RPD, they will encounter a range of puzzles that vary in necessity for story progression. Among these is the optional scavenger hunt devised by the character Barry Burton, offering an engaging diversion for players seeking to explore the rich lore of the game.

Completing Barry’s scavenger hunt grants players access to JoJo’s locker key and the code for a briefcase–rewards that greatly enhance players’ arsenal through powerful weapon charms. This makes it worthwhile for gamers to tackle Barry’s intriguing challenge.

To initiate the scavenger hunt, players must head to the S.T.A.R.S. Office located on the second floor of the RPD. Access can be gained through the west door of the main lobby. Once inside, players need to navigate through a series of corridors until they reach the Reception room, where elimination of a lurking zombie is necessary before proceeding to find clues in the S.T.A.R.S. Office. Here, players will discover the first clue on a jacket hanging on the wall, alongside various photographs that provide hints needed to unlock JoJo’s locker key, a crucial item for advancing in the hunt.

Once armed with the key, players should return to the West Office to unlock the locker and unveil an assortment of nostalgic Capcom Easter eggs, along with the S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm. This charm boosts firepower but comes with a trade-off, increasing recoil while aiming.

The second component of Barry’s scavenger hunt sends players in search of a code for a briefcase hidden in the backroom of the S.T.A.R.S. Office. While players can uncover the code through exploration, a shortcut exists: simply input «RRR» to directly unlock the briefcase. Successfully doing so rewards players with the powerful Power Shades Charm that allows for limitless bullet penetration.

For those who prefer to follow the scavenger hunt steps carefully, the journey begins with reading Barry’s to-do list on his desk, followed by a visit to Albert Wesker’s office to examine a hidden desk drawer. An important check-out card appears after a brief wait, guiding players to the library, where further clues await.

Ascending the library stairs will lead players to a bookshelf that contains a peculiar photo of Rebecca Chambers alongside the final clue needed to solve the hunt. With each clue and challenge, players can uncover layers of the game’s narrative while enhancing their gameplay experience, making Resident Evil Requiem an engaging and multifaceted entry into the beloved franchise.
