In the enchanting world of Cult of the Lamb, players encounter a vibrant NPC named Plimbo, who resides in the unique setting of Smuggler’s Sanctuary following the initial confrontation in Anchordeep. Plimbo, a charming smuggler and sailor, frequently reminisces about his unseen partner and mother-in-law, adding a humorous twist to his character.

At the Smuggler’s Sanctuary, adventurers can acquire tarot cards and decorations specific to Anchordeep. However, Plimbo primarily serves as a unique trading partner, allowing players to exchange the elusive Eye of the Witness for Holy Talisman fragments. Each Eye yields one fragment, which can unlock different Fleeces imbued with special abilities. Initially, players can offer Plimbo four Eyes, but as they conquer additional bosses, this number can expand to eight, effectively doubling the potential Fleeces available.

Interestingly, players will find themselves at a crossroads after bringing Plimbo the Rotten Eye of the Witness, a task required post-victory in Woolhaven. Plimbo’s reaction is notably negative, as he outright refuses the item, creating a challenge for players to discover alternative uses for the Rotten Eye in the Woolhaven DLC.

To unlock its potential, players must engage with a character known as the Stranger, who can be found lurking in the Spore Grotto. Although the initial description suggests Plimbo would entertain the idea of purchasing the Rotten Eye, it quickly becomes clear that this is not the case. Instead, he directs players to the Stranger, hinting at a more fruitful transaction.

The Stranger, shrouded in mystery, awaits in the top-right corner of the Spore Grotto’s first chamber. Approaching this enigmatic figure initiates the Talking to Strangers quest, requiring players to present two Rotten Eyes. Successfully doing so unlocks unique Relics: the Idol of the Immolated Relic and the Veil of the Unmoved. The former is marked as fragile and, upon use, transforms all hearts into Molten Hearts, which inflict damage on enemies when they make contact. The latter provides a chilling effect, replacing hearts with Frozen Hearts that cause enemies to become cold upon hitting the Lamb.

Both Relics are exclusive offerings within the Woolhaven DLC, inviting players to explore new strategies and gameplay mechanics. As the adventure continues, the discovery of the Rotten Eye’s value in the hands of the Stranger adds layers to the gameplay, enriching the experience of Cult of the Lamb.
