The new expansion, Edge of Fate, in Destiny 2 introduces an Exotic hand cannon known as the Graviton Spike. This weapon merges the properties of Arc and Stasis, providing insights into past events within the DEO.
To acquire the Graviton through the Ages Exotic quest, you must first finish The Edge of Fate campaign on any difficulty level. Afterward, visit the Altar of Relativity located on Kepler to begin the quest for the new Exotic.
Here’s a guide on completing the Graviton through the Ages Exotic quest in Destiny 2.
Graviton through the Ages Exotic Quest Walkthrough in Destiny 2
Locate the Weapon Piece in the Outer Steppes
Talk to Lodi and Emeritus to obtain the Rosetta III upgrade, which will help you triangulate the location of the weapon piece in the Outer Steppes.
The search areas for all objectives are marked on the map.
As you enter the area, find a Rosetta Sentry Minotaur that is positioned behind a building on your left. Defeat the Minotaur and interact with a Rosetta terminal in that corner to reveal the exact location of the weapon piece.
Once you arrive at the designated area, look for an Exile Pylon below a ledge. Charge it using Matterspark to activate the cannon and use it to propel yourself forward. Continue along the path, charging additional Pylons to unlock the final door.
Retrieve the piece inside the small structure and return it to Emeritus in Caldera.
Locate the Weapon Piece in the Gorge
The next task is similar, but this time you need to find a weapon piece in the Gorge. Eliminate the Rosetta Sentry in the vicinity, interact with the terminal at the center of the room, and then head toward the piece’s location.
Approaching the target area, you will pass through a Matterspark tunnel and enter a room with a Cyclops. There’s a path to the left within that tunnel that you will need the Mattermorph ability to access. In the Cyclops room, use the Matterspark to navigate a path on the right to find an isolated room containing the Mattermorph. Acquire that ability, return to the tunnel, unblock the path, and collect the weapon piece.
Locate the Weapon Piece in the Exile’s Accord
As anticipated, the process is identical for finding the next piece. Eliminate the Rosetta Sentry, engage with the terminal, and proceed to the target area. Note that the triangulated location in the Exile’s Accord is significantly larger than usual, but the markers will guide you directly to the target.
Collect Vex Data Fragments
Your next objective is to defeat Vex and gather their Data Fragments. Any Vex will suffice, but if you’re looking for something to do, consider completing two runs of Vex Energy Extraction near Caldera. This mini-activity typically takes about five minutes.
Locate the Weapon Piece in the Central Academy
Fortunately, you’ll have a precise location for the final piece. Navigate to the Aionian Campus (the same location as during the Vessel of the Nine quest) and gain entry by destroying the yellow nodes and interacting with the terminal. Within the search area, there will be a door obstructed by lasers, behind which is a Relocator target.
To obtain the Relocator, follow the familiar path to the first open area. You will find the Relocator in a suspended crate in the center of that room. Collect the Mattermorph from the left corner and utilize it on the crate to retrieve the Relocator. Bring the Relocator back to the door, shoot the target, and enter the portal to obtain the final piece.
Complete The Sieve Activity on Kepler
The final task involves completing one encounter in The Sieve activity. The Sieve occurs as a destination activity every 90 minutes and lasts for 30 minutes. Each encounter during this activity rewards one chest, and there’s a chance for a lightning round that provides an extra chest along with the Edge of Fate Exotic armor piece.
The Graviton Spike can be obtained from the chest after completing an encounter in The Sieve. You can now start pursuing its intrinsic upgrades and wait for the Catalysts to be released.
