Top Strategies for Earning Money in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

Even in the plague-ridden realms of Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, managing finances is crucial. Gold serves as the primary currency here, and if you aren’t regularly engaging in quests or performing minor tasks, you’re likely to end up short on funds frequently.

Gold plays a vital role in acquiring and enhancing equipment in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, but both can be quite costly. Fortunately, there is a straightforward strategy to elevate your financial status, requiring some effort and a good measure of patience.

Optimal Strategies for Accumulating Gold in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

At the outset of the game, the most effective method for earning Gold is by selling food. You can either resort to the traditional approach of purchasing items at a low price and reselling them at a higher rate, or exploit a more creative method if your character leans towards being a mage.

Before diving into this, ensure you allocate points in Practicality and have fully developed Mercantile Skills, Side Dish Mastery, and Reusable Resources under the Practicality → Crafting & Trading skill category.

To kickstart your wealth generation, head to the kitchen within the Horns of the South Keep and purchase every ingredient available from the cook there. Be sure to express your desire to learn cooking to prompt him to sell to you.

With your ingredients ready, proceed to the campfire outside and interact with it. You have two choices:

  • Prepare as much food as you can using known recipes.
  • Experiment by combining random ingredients and see what you create.

The quickest method for producing meals is to simply combine random ingredients to form various dishes. Most of the time, you’ll generate Undercooked Food, but occasionally you might cook something more definitive that you lack the recipe for. With that successful dish, you permanently gain the recipe. After cooking, sell the entirety of your creations back to the kitchen for a decent return.

The Cheese Strategy

This tactic has several prerequisites; you will need either a level 20+ character focused on Spirituality and Practicality or a level 10+ character stocked with Origin Potions. Regardless, it’s essential to invest points in Practicality for this method to be lucrative.

First off, you will require Rumpolt’s Revenge, a spell that converts targets into cheese. You can obtain it by progressing through Orlaith’s questline, who can be found at her stall by the front gate of the Horns during the day. After completing her quests, you’ll end up in the dungeon beneath the Ruined Broch where you can locate Rumpolt. Completing his quest will grant you the spell.

Next, you will need a spell for summoning minions. Rumpolt’s Revenge can be cast on friendly units, allowing you to transform any summoned creature into cheese. There are two summoning spells in Act 1 that work well for this:

  • Wolf’s Call, found in the Miner’s Tunnels northeast of Blood Lake. Within the mine, search for an entrance leading to an underground lake and explore the area for a crate containing the spell.
  • Skeleton Army, which is dropped by the Necromancer in the Ancient Crypt.

Lastly, adequate mana is necessary for this process. Approximately eight seconds of uninterrupted channeling is required to turn a wolf from Wolf’s Call into cheese. Depending on your Spirituality, you should aim for around 80 mana, alongside an additional 10-20 to account for surges used in summoning and maintaining minions.

Once equipped with everything needed, simply summon a minion and transform it into cheese. This approach yields about a dozen cheese pieces from each sacrificed minion. You can either sell the cheese directly for around 3 Gold per item or choose to turn them into Cheese Balls of Doom, with resale values ranging between 19-40 Gold each, depending on your Practicality level and cheese quality.

This strategy may be somewhat time-intensive but offers a more reliable income compared to simply selling assorted food items. Moreover, it doesn’t require any initial capital to execute since you won’t need to buy ingredients to get started.
