Wuchang: Fallen Feathers includes numerous cinematic boss battles that increase in difficulty as players advance through the game. After leaving the Revenant Temple, players will head to the Lightzen Temple, where a group of challenging enemies awaits. The first significant boss in the game, Master Raider – Man-Eating Dhutanga, can prove to be quite a tough encounter if approached without proper preparation. Below is a comprehensive guide to the boss fight, along with strategies to improve your chances of success.
Locating Master Raider – Man-Eating Dhutanga in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Upon navigating through the cliffs of Worship’s Rise, players will reach the Lightzen Temple in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. In the center of this temple lies a shrine that players should activate before engaging nearby enemies to avoid unnecessary backtracking.
After resting at the shrine, it’s advisable to eliminate the surrounding enemies to collect Red Mercury for character enhancements. Improving your attributes before facing the boss will simplify the battle. Focus primarily on Strength (to increase attack power) and Endurance (for stamina), since dodging the boss’s attacks is more manageable than boosting Vitality (HP).
Once your character is leveled up and ready for battle, proceed up the stairs to the right of the shrine and into the courtyard of the Lightzen Temple. You will encounter two zombified monks that must be dealt with before you can access the boss arena. Navigate across the courtyard and around the next room to locate the door leading to the boss fight area. Opening this door will trigger the encounter with Master Raider – Man-Eating Dhutanga.
Strategies to Defeat Master Raider – Man-Eating Dhutanga
Master Raider – Man-Eating Dhutanga features two phases, so timely dodging is crucial. Here are the primary attacks you can expect during your battle with the boss, along with tips on how to counter them:
- Halberd Charge: The boss will charge forward while thrusting its Halberd, inflicting stab damage. You can dodge this by moving to the side.
- Jump Attack: When the boss raises its weapon and lifts one leg, prepare for a leap attack. It will jump and drive the Halberd into the ground. Timing your dodge just before impact can help you gain Skyborn Might.
- AOE Stomp: The boss will strike the ground with the Halberd at random intervals, indicating an area of effect (AOE) attack. It will then stomp, causing damage in a small radius. Maintain distance when you see this move to create space and heal if necessary.
- Fireball (Phase Two): When the boss’s health drops below 50%, it will launch an AOE attack that deals burn damage if you are caught. This attack has a wider radius than the stomp, so stay far from the boss.
- Fire Imbued Halberd (Phase Two): In the second phase, the boss’s attacks become faster, and its Halberd will be set ablaze, causing fire damage with each hit.
The optimal strategy for defeating the boss involves performing charged heavy attacks. These attacks quickly increase the stagger meter, allowing for Obliterate strikes that deal substantial damage. Make sure to equip the skill that enables instant-charged attacks when you have a Skyborn Might charge.
The second phase can be more challenging due to the boss’s increased speed. However, if you have mastered the first phase’s attack patterns and can dodge effectively, the second phase should also be manageable. Just be cautious to avoid any burn damage, as this can significantly reduce your health over time.
If you’re using the default longsword, it’s beneficial to execute the Skyborn Might charged Blink Kick followed by quick light attacks to stagger the boss and chip away at its health. Your primary goal should be to land Obliterate strikes as often as possible. Once you have defeated Master Raider – Man-Eating Dhutanga, you’ll receive the Copper Jug and the key to Lightzen Temple in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, enabling progress to the next area.
