GRID, a firm specializing in data and technology, has obtained the intellectual property assets of Bayes Esports following the latter’s insolvency.
This acquisition aims to enhance GRID’s regulated betting platform, GRID Bet, while further establishing its presence in the rapidly expanding esports sector.
«By acquiring Bayes’ assets, we are significantly boosting GRID’s ability to provide value to esports rights holders and advance the upcoming phase of esports betting,» stated Moritz Maurer, Founder and CEO of GRID.
GRID Acquires Bayes Esports to Improve Esports Betting Solutions
This agreement incorporates nearly ten years of Bayes Esports’ innovations, encompassing live data trading systems, predictive models, and tools to enhance fan engagement, into the GRID Data Platform.
The incorporation of this technology is expected to speed up product development and enhance GRID’s capacity to offer groundbreaking services to its partner betting operators.
Established in 2019, Bayes Esports earned recognition as a significant B2B data provider, working alongside numerous tournament organizers and gambling platforms before facing financial difficulties.
The technology from Bayes will strengthen GRID’s services, from GRID Bet’s live betting solutions to GRID Insights, an AI-driven analytics tool introduced earlier this year for esports broadcasts.
This acquisition aligns with GRID’s strategy to solidify exclusive partnerships with leading rights holders and game developers like Riot Games, ESL FACEIT Group, BLAST, Ubisoft, and Krafton.
These collaborations enable GRID to supply official live match data for major esports titles such as League of Legends, Dota 2, CS2, and VALORANT, which is crucial for generating accurate odds and regulated betting options.
The acquisition is also timely, as global esports betting is experiencing significant growth. A report by Business Research Insights projects the market will grow from $16.21 billion in 2025 to $54.03 billion by 2034, emphasizing the potential that GRID aims to tap into with the Bayes Esports acquisition.
