As you explore the diverse landscapes of Viewros in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, you will encounter Scout Bots in each region. These robots initially lie dormant and don’t serve any purpose until you acquire the Thunder Shot weapon during your third excursion to Volt Forge. Once you’ve got the Thunder Shot, firing it at a Scout Bot reactivates it, prompting the bot to survey the surrounding dungeon and display the locations of any undiscovered items. Locations of All Scout Bots:

1. Scout Bot 1: Fury Green

   • Location: Found in the Ancient Path chamber, you will naturally come across this first Scout Bot during your initial journey through the level.

2. Scout Bot 2: Volt Forge

   • Location: This bot is situated on a small platform nearby the Morph Ball exit leading to the second generator.

3. Scout Bot 3: Ice Belt

   • Location: Directly in front of a junk pile in the Snowfield area.

4. Scout Bot 4: Flare Pool

   • Location: After traversing the lava under the Lava Lake Bridge, cross over a small channel and search near the rock wall.

5. Scout Bot 5: Great Mines

   • Location: Shortly after Samus and VUE-995 separate on Level 3, you will reach a vast area known as the Main Shaft. Once you open a large door, look towards the left where a massive Maul Griever cocoon sits; the Scout Bot can be found in the corner.

6. Scout Bot 6: Sol Valley

   • Location: To find this Scout Bot, move north along the western edge of Sol Valley starting from just outside the entrance to Volt Forge. You will notice a distinct purple glow from Psychic Platforms leading to a small island where the bot awaits.

Activating Scout Bots

To activate a Scout Bot, the Thunder Shot weapon must first be unlocked. This upgrade is only available after your third visit to Volt Forge and comes with the Psychic Grapple gained from defeating the Flare Pool boss.

Once equipped with the Thunder Shot, approach each Scout Bot and shoot it once to power it up. Follow this by scanning the bot with the Psychic Visor to fully activate it, which triggers a brief cutscene of the bot surveying the area.

After activation, the Scout Bot will drop silently to the ground. At this point, the map will reflect a small orange X that identifies any remaining undiscovered items, including missile expansions and energy tanks.
