One of the advanced quests in The Outer Worlds 2 is titled ‘An Equitable Arrangement’. This mission involves making a choice about which faction to support in order to gain control of the Archive. Although aligning with either Auntie’s Choice or The Order is straightforward by boosting your status with your chosen faction, facilitating collaboration between the two presents a greater challenge. Each faction has specific goals that cannot be compromised, and you may find yourself unable to initiate cooperation before discussions even begin. Below is a guide to help you bring Auntie’s Choice and The Order together in The Outer Worlds 2.
How to Facilitate Negotiation Between Auntie’s Choice and The Order in The Outer Worlds 2
To successfully bring Auntie Cleo and Ruth together for discussions, you must first meet certain conditions:
- Ensure that the delegates are not eliminated by De Vries at Greater Tranquility Station.
- Complete faction missions to enhance your reputation and build trust with each faction’s leader.
The first requirement is manageable, especially if you are willing to get your hands dirty. If persuading De Vries to abandon her plans proves unsuccessful, eliminating her is an option to prevent any harm to the delegates.
Boosting your reputation with the factions involves straightforward missions integral to the main storyline as you seek access to the Archive and manage rift data. Eventually, you will engage with high-ranking members from both factions who will assign you various tasks. Completing these will allow you to speak with both Auntie Cleo and Ruth Basar.
Do not face the Protectorate at the Archive solo. Doing so will hinder your progress.
Persuading Auntie Cleo and Ruth to Collaborate
When engaging in dialogue with both characters, choose options that encourage collaboration. Auntie Cleo will be amenable to a meeting, but Ruth will require a speech check to be swayed. Here are the dialogue choices I found effective during my conversation with her:
- Vicar Levin wishes to continue negotiations, and I believe he is correct.
- You are a wise leader, Bishop, capable of recognizing the possible advantages. (Speech 7)
- Indeed, it is my desire for Auntie’s Choice and The Order to collaborate.
- I will do anything necessary to earn a meeting with her.
Complete List of Dialogue Choices to Encourage Collaboration
Before entering the negotiation area after leaving the elevator, remember to save your progress. This allows you to experiment with different dialogue choices and observe how they impact the negotiation outcomes.
Here is a compilation of effective dialogue options to facilitate cooperation between the two factions, ultimately leading to achieving the ‘Corporation Cooperation’ achievement/trophy:
- I understand why a neutral third party is necessary in this situation.
- Let’s cut to the chase. What do we need to do to establish this partnership?
- The first crucial issue to determine is who will gain control over the Archive.
- Ruth is correct. The Order developed the Archive, so it should belong to them.
- This arrangement doesn’t have to be permanent. What is a minor compromise now for greater benefits later?
- You are the corporate mastermind; I trust you will find a solution.
- I disagree. Nothing is free. Auntie’s Choice should oversee production.
- Wild thought, but perhaps The Order and Auntie’s Choice could share the technology?
- Better than worse alternatives!
- Now we’re speaking the same language. I appreciate my own «chemical cocktails» as well. (Ex-Convict background needed)
- However, Auntie is in charge now, Ruth. You both must collaborate.
- The device you’ve mentioned doesn’t seem particularly safe.
- What are the chances of this being a success? Surely, you must have crunched the numbers.
- This is your call, Ruth. If you are willing to assume the risk, who am I to argue?
- I’m just glad that an agreement was reached between the two of you.
This approach offers a reliable pathway for convincing Auntie and Ruth to collaborate without requiring overly advanced skills–outside of the fun ex-convict background choice, which doesn’t seem to influence the dialogue significantly. This straightforward approach enables both parties to make concessions to reach an agreement.
