Sportradar Group AG has successfully finalized its acquisition of IMG ARENA along with its comprehensive portfolio of global sports betting rights from Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. and OB Global Holdings, LLC.
This transaction signifies a pivotal achievement in Sportradar’s ongoing growth strategy, significantly bolstering its status as a premier provider of sports technology, data, and content within major betting markets.
«This positions us to offer even more engaging, data-powered experiences for our clients, partners, and sports fans worldwide, while driving innovation across the global sports landscape,» stated Carsten Koerl, CEO of Sportradar.
Sportradar Gains Access to Premium Sports Content through IMG ARENA Acquisition
Announced originally on March 19, 2025, this deal grants Sportradar access to a substantial array of top-tier sports rights, such as Wimbledon, the PGA Tour, EuroLeague Basketball, the WTA Tour, and Major League Soccer (MLS).
The acquisition results in partnerships with over 70 rights holders, bringing in approximately 39,000 official data events and 30,000 live streaming events every year, covering 14 sports and six continents.
Notably, the deal’s structure is distinctive, as Sportradar will not make any cash payments. Instead, it involves a total financial consideration of $225 million favoring Sportradar, which includes about $122 million in prepayments from the seller to certain rights holders and approximately $103 million to be received by Sportradar over the following two years, subject to typical purchase price adjustments.
Sportradar expects that this acquisition will improve its adjusted EBITDA margins and free cash flow conversion, while fostering revenue growth and long-term profitability.
The firm’s updated outlook for 2025 anticipates at least a 17% increase in revenue to $1.29 billion, alongside a 30% rise in adjusted EBITDA to €290 million.
The acquisition, which underwent evaluation by the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), received regulatory approval on October 2, 2025. The CMA concluded that the acquisition would not negatively affect competition in the sports data and media rights markets, allowing Sportradar to seamlessly integrate IMG ARENA’s assets and operations.
Strong Quarterly Performance and Future Growth Initiatives
Shortly after concluding the transaction with IMG ARENA, Sportradar released its financial results for the third quarter of 2025, demonstrating robust performance despite challenges from currency fluctuations. Revenue increased by 14% year-over-year, reaching €292 million, while profits dipped from €37 million to €22 million due to foreign exchange impacts. Meanwhile, EBITDA surged by 29% to €85 million.
Sportradar plans to persist in investing in artificial intelligence and exploring new opportunities in the iGaming sector, while utilizing IMG ARENA’s assets to expand its global footprint and enhance service offerings to clients.
«We are excited to boost our growth further with the completion of the IMG ARENA acquisition, strengthening our competitive stance, including our unrivaled rights portfolio, industry-leading product offerings, and extensive global relationships. The acquisition opens additional growth avenues and we look forward to creating significant value for our shareholders moving ahead,» Koerl remarked.
