Mojang has revealed Wilderness Bound, the third Minecraft Game Drop of 2026. The update will introduce a new Dappled Forest biome, abandoned camps, straw beds, new building materials, and several features designed to make exploration more rewarding.

Cybersport In reports, citing Wilderness Bound, that Minecraft Wilderness Bound will introduce the Dappled Forest, a new biome filled with tall poplar trees featuring red, orange, and yellow foliage. Players will also find bushes and bracket fungi growing on trees, with the latter becoming part of the environment that can be used for parkour and traversal.

Dappled Forest and Abandoned Camps Are Coming to Minecraft

The Dappled Forest will be one of the main additions in the upcoming Minecraft 26.3 update. Along with its distinctive autumn-inspired environment, the biome will introduce poplar trees and a new gray-toned wood set that players can use for building.

Exploration elsewhere in the Minecraft world is also getting an upgrade. Abandoned camps will begin appearing across other biomes, offering players new locations to discover during their travels.

The camps will contain tents, chests and barrels with various supplies and loot. Possible finds include bread, wheat, leather, axes, arrows and maps.

Another notable addition is the straw bed. Unlike a regular bed, it will allow players to skip the night without changing their spawn point – a useful feature for anyone exploring far from their main base.

Straw beds can be found at abandoned camps or crafted using three hay bales.

Wilderness Bound Expands Minecraft’s Building Options

The update will also introduce several new decorative and construction options for Minecraft builders.

Alongside the new poplar wood set, players will get pillows for interior decoration and additional building blocks. Wool stairs and slabs are being added, while concrete stairs and slabs will become available in all existing colors.

Together, these additions expand the range of shapes and materials available for builds without fundamentally changing Minecraft’s familiar construction system.

Wilderness Bound continues Mojang’s Game Drop approach to releasing new Minecraft content in smaller themed updates rather than relying exclusively on large annual releases.

When Will Minecraft Wilderness Bound Be Released?

Mojang has not yet announced an exact release date for Wilderness Bound. The Minecraft Game Drop is currently expected to arrive around mid-September 2026.

More precise timing is likely to be announced closer to launch.
