Persona 5 Phantom X Desire Metro Walkthrough

Metro of Desire is a thrilling roguelite mode featured in Persona 5: The Phantom X, offering players a new experience with each gameplay session. This mode requires players to employ their skills to manage their team and utilize the various boons obtained during explorations, as they confront tougher foes and challenging bosses. Fortunately, each playthrough culminates in a plethora of rewards, making the effort truly rewarding.

This guide aims to provide players with comprehensive insights into the Metro of Desire, covering its intricate mechanics, optimal Charm selections, and the Lost Items system, alongside the rewards earned through challenges. Let’s first delve into the fundamental aspects of navigating through the Metro of Desire roguelite dungeon.

Introduction to Metro of Desire and Basic Mechanics

Metro of Desire serves as a Roguelite Mode that plunges players into captivating dungeon expeditions across the Metro Platforms within the Metaverse. Each platform presents either an easy or moderate challenge enemy, a selection of reward chests, a merchant, or a Shadow that bestows rewards based on chance.

Accessing the Metro of Desire doesn’t deplete Stamina, allowing players to engage as often as they desire. Each time players enter the Control Center, they can Depart and explore a randomly generated dungeon featuring a designated Boss. Final bosses await at the end of each path, which become accessible as new difficulty tiers are conquered.

The essential rules governing Metro of Desire are:

  1. Players can only restore health during combat or by utilizing specific items called Prayer Magatama, or under special circumstances.
  2. Once players enter Metro of Desire, their Party members, gear, and Wonder’s Persona become locked.
  3. Retiring from the Metro of Desire results in the loss of all progress and rewards achieved.
  4. Each adventure presents unique experiences, although bosses are determined by the routes chosen through the platforms.
  5. As players progress through the platforms, enemy difficulty in terms of HP and damage escalates.
  6. At the commencement of each round, a specific effect will take place (for instance, the Wave of Passion effect injures both foes and allies).
  7. Items referred to as Charms will influence Party stats and provide additional benefits, such as granting a Shield whenever hit by a Wave of Passion. Players can carry a limited number of Charms throughout the run, but can acquire more Charm slots by exchanging Railway Coins during their journey.
  8. Each Intersection requires players to defeat a Ruffian known as ‘Depraved Shadow’ (or Sub-Boss) to proceed to the next section and continue their exploration until they reach the ultimate Boss.

While exploring, players must also consider specific effects that enhance bosses and monsters while weakening their Party members. As the difficulty escalates, so do these empowering effects.

As players explore each platform, they can collect five distinct types of items:

  • Railway Coins: The currency of Metro of Desire, used for acquiring Charms and Lost Items from the merchant, Marthym.
  • Charms: Beneficial items that grow in strength based on the quantity of the same type collected. They come in blue, purple, or yellow quality and can form sets for collection challenges that grant rewards. Charms imbue various combat enhancements essential for overcoming formidable enemies during delving and boss encounters. At the end of an exploration session, Charms are transformed into Exp and Remodel Tickets for upgrades. Complete Sets can be redeemed in the Lost and Found tab for rewards like Meta Jewels.
  • Lost Items: These rare finds can be acquired with low probability after defeating foes, and through chests, wandering shadows, or by trading with Marthym when present. At the closure of a run, Lost Items can be exchanged for Meta Jewels in the Lost and Found, but this can only be done once per Lost Item.
  • Route Ticket: Randomly obtained, usable in Marthym’s Roulette for assorted rewards, including Platinum Milicoin, Golden Tickets, Platinum Tickets, Meta Jewels, and Leveling Materials.
  • Prayer Magatama: This item restores the Party’s HP and can be leveraged in a type of ‘bargain’ to convert all acquired Magatama for Railway Coins. Relinquishing Prayer Magatama for other currencies is generally unwise, as it’s vital for health recovery in Metro of Desire.

All Rewards in Metro of Desire

To unlock new tiers, players must overcome each boss across various difficulty levels, which in turn opens new pathways on the platforms and presents opportunities for Special Operations (SO) – reward tiers for completing various challenges. Here’s a breakdown of the rewards players can achieve:

Special Operations are not the sole source of rewards in Metro of Desire. Players can enhance their ‘Track Record‘ by acquiring experience (akin to a Season Pass) at the end of each run, which is influenced by the collection of Lost Items, vanquished enemies, and gathered Railway Coins and Charms. The Track Record consists of 100 levels, granting noteworthy rewards such as Gold & Platinum Tickets, Platinum Milicoins, Everlasting Incense, Orange Revelation Envelopes, Orlov (to enhance a Persona to Rank 7), and even a complimentary 4-Star Phantom Idol draw.

Moreover, players can obtain rewards through completing Charm Sets and gathering Lost Items in the Lost and Found, primarily offering Meta Jewels, which facilitates additional draws from the Gacha Banners.

How to Unlock All Bosses in Metro Of Desire

To gain access to each Boss in Metro of Desire, players must clear ‘Routes,’ and upon defeating the bosses, a subsequent level of difficulty becomes accessible. Players begin with a boss at Level 1 Difficulty, unlocking two additional bosses at Level 2, and so forth.

<pEach Boss encountered at the conclusion of the Metro of Desire platform routes poses a significant challenge. It’s crucial to acknowledge that each boss has distinct rules, and as the difficulty heightens, the rules and enhancements become more formidable. Some bosses will exhibit elevated defense, whereas others may have massively increased HP (in the thousands).

The quantity and quality of charms gathered during explorations significantly affect the Party’s resilience, damage reduction, and attacking potential. Choosing optimal charms and prioritizing defensive tactics are effective strategies against the toughest challenges in Metro of Desire.
